Ola Jachymiak StudioNotting Hill is one of the most charming and stylish districts in London. This apartment is situated at Hereford Road, on a 19th century building, where Guglielmo Marconi (the pioneer of wireless communication) lived for a year; now the home of my clients, a french couple.
The owners desire was to celebrate the building's past while also reflecting their own french aesthetic, so we recreated victorian moldings, cornices and rosettes. We also found an iron fireplace, inspired by the 19th century era, which we placed in the living room, to bring that cozy feeling without loosing the minimalistic vibe. We installed customized cement tiles in the bathroom and the Burlington London sanitaires, combining both french and british aesthetic.
We decided to mix the traditional style with modern white bespoke furniture. All the apartment is in bright colors, with the exception of a few details, such as the fireplace and the kitchen splash back: bold accents to compose together with the neutral colors of the space.
We have found the best layout for this small space by creating light transition between the pieces. First axis runs from the entrance door to the kitchen window, while the second leads from the window in the living area to the window in the bedroom. Thanks to this alignment, the spatial arrangement is much brighter and vaster, while natural light comes to every room in the apartment at any time of the day.

UserBespoke joinery gives the client additional storage for both family games and wood for the open fire. The Samsung TV gave the client both the opportunity to work and watch TV using this wonderful piece of technology. Plus when not in use was great for displaying family photographs and selected works of art.

Cathie Hong InteriorsWe updated this century-old iconic Edwardian San Francisco home to meet the homeowners' modern-day requirements while still retaining the original charm and architecture. The color palette was earthy and warm to play nicely with the warm wood tones found in the original wood floors, trim, doors and casework.
Remodeling ConsultantsThis large sun room / family room was part of an addition to a lovely home in Westport, CT we remodeled. White French doors open the room to the rest of the house. While beautiful white trim and crown molding outline the room and the tall windows. The room is finished off with recessed lighting, light colored walls, dark hardwood floors and a large ceiling fan. A perfect room for relaxation!

A consistent millwork stain color was developed to set the tone in all the rooms, and to create continuity throughout the house. Featuring beautiful, handcarved, wood columns, this living / dining room contains a glimpse "days gone by." We love the natural light and the banded, antique lighting fixtures. Robert Rhodes Architecture + InteriorsLincoln Road is our renovation and extension of a Victorian house in East Finchley, North London. It was driven by the will and enthusiasm of the owners, Ed and Elena, who's desire for a stylish and contemporary family home kept the project focused on achieving their goals.
HuntsmoreThe chimney-breast was cut away to expose the fireplace’s original brickwork. An antique marble surround dating from the 1880s was installed. Bespoke cupboards and shelves were made to run flush with the chimney-breast. The radiator on the left hand side was removed and a period Victorian unit was fitted on the opposite wall [the entire central heating system was replaced]. The property was fully rewired with energy efficient LED lights replacing the single pendant. Custom-made plantation shutters and a solid wood floor were installed.
