It is hard to imagine this quaint Cape Cod before the gorgeous home addition. The design blends with the original structure seamlessly, which is one of the marks of a great addition! Every detail was accounted for. Best of all, the project was completed on schedule.

This home was completely renovated, including an addition. It was transformed from a Colonial style to Greek Revival, which was more fitting for the neighborhood. The screened porch was added as a part of the renovation, with Greek Revival style pillars separating the screens, and durable ipe decking for a floor. Photo by Andrea Rugg.

Siesta Key Low Country covered, screened-in porch with fireplace and unique pendant light fixture. This is a very well detailed custom home on a smaller scale, measuring only 3,000 sf under a/c. Every element of the home was designed by some of Sarasota's top architects, landscape architects and interior designers. One of the highlighted features are the true cypress timber beams that span the great room. These are not faux box beams but true timbers. Another awesome design feature is the outdoor living room boasting 20' pitched ceilings and a 37' tall chimney made of true boulders stacked over the course of 1 month.

The screened-in porch is rustic and charming. The timbers are gorgeous and inviting to spend your time relaxing here. The fireplace adds an all season element as well.

Holistic Home Renovation -Series 7: "The Porch" (See 2-24 Post for full description) Can you feel the breeze? This bright and airy porch lets summer's breezes blow through, but also has glass panes to fend off fall's chills. 4 large skylights brighten up the porch as well as the main house beyond. Colorful blue metal roofing provides shelter from the elements. Stained fir gives the ceiling a friendly feel above the cool porcelain tile flooring. Three fans help circulate the air during MD's "dog days" of summer. Speaking of dogs..., the owners lovable dogs have two pet doors allowing them to freely frolic about!
