Lorin Hill, ArchitectA traditional home in the Claremont Hills of Berkeley is enlarged and fully renovated to fit the lives of a young couple and their growing family. The existing partial upper floor was fully expanded to create three additional bedrooms, a hall bath, laundry room and updated master suite, with the intention that the expanded house volume harmoniously integrates with the architectural character of the existing home. A new central staircase brings in a tremendous amount of daylight to the heart of the ground floor while also providing a strong visual connection between the floors. The new stair includes access to an expanded basement level with storage and recreation spaces for the family. Main level spaces were also extensively upgraded with the help of noted San Francisco interior designer Grant K. Gibson. Photos by Kathryn MacDonald.
StoneUnlimited Kitchen and Bath RemodelingThis exquisite bathroom remodel located in Alpharetta, Georgia is the perfect place for any homeowner to slip away into luxurious relaxation.
This bathroom transformation entailed removing two walls to reconfigure the vanity and maximize the square footage. A double vanity was placed to one wall to allow the placement of the beautiful Danae Free Standing Tub. The seamless Serenity Shower glass enclosure showcases detailed tile work and double Delta Cassidy shower rain cans and trim. An airy, spa-like feel was created by combining white marble style tile, Super White Dolomite vanity top and the Sea Salt Sherwin Williams paint on the walls. The dark grey shaker cabinets compliment the Bianco Gioia Marble Basket-weave accent tile and adds a touch of contrast and sophistication.

TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+BuildersThe layout in the second-floor bathroom was changed to better accommodate the toilet, tub, and shower. A new vanity was added for more storage and kid delineated space. The crown trim along the vanity wall was part of the existing built in.

Hyde Park RenovationsWorking with the homeowners and our design team, we feel that we created the ultimate spa retreat. The main focus is the grand vanity with towers on either side and matching bridge spanning above to hold the LED lights. By Plain & Fancy cabinetry, the Vogue door beaded inset door works well with the Forest Shadow finish. The toe space has a decorative valance down below with LED lighting behind. Centaurus granite rests on top with white vessel sinks and oil rubber bronze fixtures. The light stone wall in the backsplash area provides a nice contrast and softens up the masculine tones. Wall sconces with angled mirrors added a nice touch.
We brought the stone wall back behind the freestanding bathtub appointed with a wall mounted tub filler. The 69" Victoria & Albert bathtub features clean lines and LED uplighting behind. This all sits on a french pattern travertine floor with a hidden surprise; their is a heating system underneath.
In the shower we incorporated more stone, this time in the form of a darker split river rock. We used this as the main shower floor and as listello bands. Kohler oil rubbed bronze shower heads, rain head, and body sprayer finish off the master bath.

Design Studio WestThe goal was to create a space that utilized the same open shower concept but that has a completely new and different feel from the previous design while
adding additional storage which was a top priority. Since this is our client’s “forever home”
something that would enable them to age in place was key.
