Photos: Paul Grdina This penthouse in Port Coquitlam was not even 2 years old when SGDI was engaged to make it something more than ordinary. This was a typical condo, built for the masses, not for a specific owner. Nothing overly nice or interesting, average quality products throughout. This entire condo was gutted down to the studs and received an entire overhaul from ceilings to floors. Beautiful herringbone patterned walnut flooring, with custom millwork and classic details throughout. Intricate diamond coffered ceilings found in the dining and living room define these entertaining spaces. Custom glass backsplash set the scene in this new kitchen with Wolf/Sub-Zero appliances. The entire condo was outfitted with state of the art technology and home automation. A custom wine room with UV blocking glass can be found on the second floor opening onto the large rooftop deck with uninterrupted views of the city. The master suite is home to a retractable TV so views were not interrupted. The master ensuite includes a generous steam shower and custom crotch mahogany vanity. Masculine elegance with hints of femininity create a fantastic space to impress.

This compact wine wall cellar had an interesting design idea. The client enjoyed the look of cork so much that he clad the entire room in sheets of it. Our clear acrylic wine racks were spec'd so he could see the cork through them. Clear acrylic has the unique ability to "pull in" color and light from its surroundings. This results in our acrylic wine racks either disappearing from, or becoming part of, the environment they are in.

The size of your custom wine cellar NJ space will determine the overall design of the wine storage room. The Kapurs in Short Hills, New Jersey had a small space with a depth of 152 inches and a width of 53 inches. Here you can see the display row, which pitches the bottles at a 15 degree angle and allows for easy browsing of the client's wines. The back and left wall feature individual bottle racks with a high reveal display row. The display row is accented by LED tape or ribbon lighting above, hidden by a light valance built into the racks. A "Cooperage" reclaimed wine barrel tabletop sits over the double deep solid diamond bins below. All of the racks play an integral part in this wine cellar design TX. We maximized the space to increase bottles storage capacity. This Texas wine cellar can store a total of 798 wine bottles.
