When the huge green ash (seen in earlier photos) collapsed it was replaced with three new maples. The cedar fence with semi-transparent white stain could not hold up to Seattle's long wet winters. It was sanded and repainted with two coats of Cabot's solid body white stain.

At 700 square feet this project is an exploration of small scale living. Located in an inner city neighborhood the house is situated in a garden setting and works around existing trees and landscape. Sections are developed to produce sophisticated flowing dynamic space. Use of color and framed views futher add drama. Standard commodity materials are used for both budgetary reasons and also to blend into the mixed residential / industrial character of the neighborhood. AIA Houston Honor Award in 2004 and DWELL 2005.

In this small but quaint project, the owners wanted to build a new front entry vestibule to their existing 1920's home. Keeping in mind the period detailing, the owners requested a hand rendering of the proposed addition to help them visualize their new entry space. Due to existing lot constraints, the project required approval by the local Zoning Board of Appeals, which we assisted the homeowner in obtaining. The new addition, when completed, added the finishing touch to the homeowner's meticulous restoration efforts.
