Contemporary home office. Custom wall mounted storage cabinets were designed above a custom designed work station by California Closets. Chaise lounge custom made by J Alexander Furniture upholstered in a brilliant blue velvet by Romo Fabrics. Accented by contrasting pillows one colorful butterfly pattern by Osbourne and Little, the other contrasting pillow in a black and white abstract pattern by Donghia. Window covering is an upholster valance horizontal striped pattern by Osbourne and Little. Contemporary Chandelier made out of colorful sheets of metal.

This project was such a trans-formative one, taking a dull home office and creating a beautiful and purposeful space that the home owner looked forward to using. Clever storage and bespoke joinery complete the room perfectly and compliment the neutral base tones used. Accents of earthy colours help to create a cosy environment and layered textures soften the space. Stylish pieces were used for styling and help to add depth to an otherwise very functional room.

The same shaker-style wall cabinets in Waypoint 650 Painted Linen from the kitchen are used in the adjacent studio office for a consistent look and feel. The built-ins provide plenty of storage with a smaller foot-print than a free-standing desk and typical bedroom furniture. The louvered panel drops down to reveal a hide-away bed and the desk surface becomes the support.

C & J just completed another design by LEAP Architecture. Richard and Laurie wanted to bring a much brighter and more modern feel to their Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom, and Loft. We completely renovated their second floor, changing the floor plan, adding windows and doors, and installing streamline modern finishes to the space. The Master Bathroom includes a Floating Island Vanity, Fully Custom Shower, Custom Walnut Paneling and Built in Cabinetry in the closets. Remember that library areas can be slotted in all around the home – under the stairs, in a corner of your living room or kitchen, as a mezzanine or in a small spare room.
