Cyr Kitchen and BathThis bathroom community project remodel was designed by Jeff from our Manchester showroom and Building Home for Dreams for Marines organization. This remodel features six drawer and one door vanity with recessed panel door style and brown stain finish. It also features matching medicine cabinet frame, a granite counter top with a yellow color and standard square edge. Other features include shower unit with seat, handicap accessible shower base and chrome plumbing fixtures and hardware.
Tulsa Design TherapyThe lower bath was completely remodeled including the expanded shower. A large counter-height vanity and plenty of cabinet storage for towels and supplies were included. The far wall in this picture is the concrete foundation under the drywall, so we couldn't add an electric plug to the left side of the vanity. Instead, we included an electric plug in the second deep drawer of the vanity for hair dryers, etc. to be hidden. Toe kick lighting helps with guests at night.
Design Perspective Interior Design, LLCMy clients wanted to change their 1950's pink bathroom and remove the bathtub. They are planning to age-in place and the bathtub was a tripping hazard. Also, the showerhead had been installed quite low originally and one of my clients had to bend awkwardly to shower, so we raised the height of the showerhead to accommodate his tall frame.
My clients chose to remodel their bathroom with a blue and white color scheme. Blue Heaven Forbo Marmoluem flooring was installed to waterproof the floor. Planetarium Blue Lanmark was used for the countertop with integrated sink and the shower walls. For a visual contrast in the shower, Blizzard Lanmark was chosen for the floor and the corner seat/bench. This will help the homeowners see the transition between the flooring and the shower easier as they age.
Grab bars were installed inside the shower, along with blocking in the walls to aid in getting into and out of the shower, and getting up and down onto the seat in the shower.
Bright, white shaker cabinetry was installed, including a counter mounted medicine cabinet with rain glass. This added much more storage for my clients which was needed in this one bath home.
The owners painted the walls in a soft shade of blue once the remodel was complete. They are loving their remodeled bathroom and all of the extra storage. The seat in the shower is a real favorite too.

Style Within LimitedWe transformed this former bedroom into this grey based bathroom with orange accents. Here note the large offset-quadrant shower cubicle with low profile tray. Just visible is a storage unit behind theshower. If space permits, we often include these partitions into the design to accommodate the plumbing, enable a niche to be created and additional side storage. This is a cost effective approach which saves knocking holes and channels into the walls.

However, if you’ve dreamt of a roll-top bath or a walk-in shower with heating at, then you might want to take longer looking for each item individually. Choosing all white elements will obviously tie everything together, but also think about the style you’re going for – ultra modern taps will clash with traditional Victorian-style wash basins. There are actually regulations around what type of light fittings you can use and where – IP67 rating lights for submerged areas e.g. inside baths and sinks (Zone 0); IP65 for any area above a shower or bath (Zone 1); and IP44 rating for anything 0.6m from a bath or basin (Zone 2). After you’ve made sure your light fittings are safe and to-code, you can consider the type and style you’d like as your working through your bathroom ideas. The great thing is that both floor tiles and wall tiles come in a huge variety of sizes, styles, colours and patterns, so you can remodel your room completely with whatever tile choices fit with your bathroom ideas. When it comes to flooring, tiles will be durable, easy to clean and deal well with water, but if you want something different you could go with modern concrete, traditional or country-style treated wooden floorboards, or a bit more quirky bamboo, cork or vinyl.
