Location: Cohasset, MA, United States This elegant property has gorgeous views of the harbor, with sweeping stone walls that create a terraced effect. Since the house was a warm beige, I felt a bold red would really bring it to life, mixed with burgundy foliage and big, dramatic grasses. Solomon's seal looks great with natural stone behind and Gallium Sweet Woodruff below. A bit of Gold Heart Bleeding Heart brightens is all up.

Peonies in the foreground; elderberries; ornamental grasses; beautiful seed heads left in place to capture dazzling sunlight. The evergreens truly play together - outstretched limbs of spruce in ice blue, feathers juniper boughs taking flight in silver green. The panic grasses send up pink seed heads in mid summer, the leaves become burgundy, early autumn. Always change and evolving amid the seasons in a well designed border.

We placed stones around the septic tank lids to keep the gravel from covering & hiding them, and bordered the gravel in the same way.

This sloped hillside has been transformed into a beautiful tapestry of colors and textures present in every season. I specified drought tolerant plants and shrubs that are low-water, low maintenance and deer resistant. Located in Novato, CA - Marin County. Some photos were taken just after installation and others 2 couple of years later.

We built our interpretation of a Japanese Tea House into the hill that rises above our home. As you climb the rustic stone steps that ascend through the Japanese Garden, you pass in front of the round window and approach the side entry. Glen Grayson, Architect
