Exterior of chicken run and pots for herbs on new, graceful stairs. The old chicken coop and run was demolished and a new, custom coop and run were tucked under the deck. and stairs. Star Jasmine isplanted around the run-- not harmful to chickens. As it grows it will blend the run into the garden and create more shady areas for the chickens. Human access to the run is concealed as one of the frame squares. The frame will be painted to match the house trim color. Dark vinyl coated chicken wire was used to be less visually noticeable. The stair pots provide room for herbs to grow.

A nice view of the custom steel veggie beds - plenty of chard here! Dry set flagstones are inter-planted with Kurapia ground cover, both low water and low maintenance.
This was a great little design-build project for some great clients!
We oversaw the construction of the shed, designed and built the pergola, deck, outdoor kitchen, water feature, flagstone patio, as well as installing the plants, irrigation and landscape lighting. So pretty at night!

This detail shows the assymetrical pattern of the deck steps. Sometimes it's the small details that make the difference.

Texas Ponds and Water Features, LLC
Disappearing or Pond-less Waterfalls allow you to enjoy the look and sound of moving water in your landscape without the maintenance of a pond. A waterfall is undoubtedly the most beautiful and coveted feature in a landscape. The eye is naturally drawn to the shimmering movement of the water. The sound of falling water soothes and relaxes you like no there sound in nature. It's a great alternative for those who are just trying to 'get their feet wet' or looking to fit a little piece of paradise into a small backyard. If your landscape lacks the space or if you have safety concerns about an ecosystem pond, then a Pond-less Waterfall is perfect for you. You can also add a stream to a pondless waterfall to add to the size and create the sense of a creek running through your landscape.
Texas Ponds and Water Features creates some of the most natural-looking water features and pondless waterfalls in the state. Using only natural stone, our specialists create waterfalls that look as is nature had carved them over hundreds of years. We serve both the Austin and Central Texas area as well as the Houston and Southeast TX areas and just about anywhere in between. Contact us today to get your backyard water feature project started.

They wanted a traditional home for their young family with great entertaining spaces that took full advantage of the site.
The site was the challenge. The natural grade of the site was far from traditional. The natural grade at the rear of the property was about thirty feet above the street level. Large mature trees provided shade and needed to be preserved.
The solution was sectional. The first floor level was elevated from the street by 12 feet, with French doors facing the park. We created a courtyard at the first floor level that provide an outdoor entertaining space, with French doors that open the home to the courtyard.. By elevating the first floor level, we were able to allow on-grade parking and a private direct entrance to the lower level pub "Mulligans". An arched passage affords access to the courtyard from a shared driveway with the neighboring homes, while the stone fountain provides a focus.
A sweeping stone stair anchors one of the existing mature trees that was preserved and leads to the elevated rear garden. The second floor master suite opens to a sitting porch at the level of the upper garden, providing the third level of outdoor space that can be used for the children to play.
The home's traditional language is in context with its neighbors, while the design allows each of the three primary levels of the home to relate directly to the outside.

This is actually part of the back yard drainage that doubles as a path. The berm on the right diverts water, flowing into the yard the, around the swimming pool. The gravel area we are looking is another level of drainage.
