The master bedroom is enveloped in Benjamin Moore's Portland Gray paint, with a special hand finish applied to the ceiling for an ethereal feel. While certainly feminine in color and shapes, this bedroom is tranquil and soothing. Bed, nightstand and dresser are from Vanguard. Custom chairs and ottoman are by Tomlinson. Motorized shades are from The Shade Store. The ultimate in luxury, bedding is by Dea fine linens. Door hardware is by Grandeur.

Pieces from the former master bedroom suite were simply moved into place. The elaborate bedframe and headboard is set against a bold purple accent wall, which lends it even more grandeur. We found a gorgeous embroidered linen fabric which was way too pricey to use for full blackout drapery. Instead, we opted to make a simple tailored valance that shows off the pattern and swathed the window in yards of simple purple silk. The rug was brought in from her former family room, lamps from the dining room, and chandelier from the old living room.

Wayne Sclesky In this beautiful modern master suite, the previous traditional style bathroom was removed and a new clean, modern space was added using a neutral palette of light and dark grays in the porcelain tiles and wall colors. Counter tops were a crisp white quartz with white under mount sinks, and clean lines were used in the cabinet design. The fireplace was totally redesigned removing the old hearth and mantel and tiling flat against the fireplace wall to open the space.

Our Oakland studio went ultra bold with the design of the guest suite at the Kips Bay Designer Showhouse. We chose the theme of a harmonious union of the physical and virtual universe through thoughtful, curated design. We used a dichromatic color theme in the bedroom to create a soothing sanctuary. Luxurious bedding, stylish fabrics, and soft velvet window treatments add a distinctive touch. In the bathroom, we added the classic black and white color theme with stylish tiles and attractive fixtures, creating a beautiful, bold contrast.
