Homeowners are going green in more ways than one. From jade, celadon and sea glass, to emerald and chartreuse, green is taking over homeowners’ living spaces in 2013. A versatile color, varying shades of green provide contrast, richness and balance to any room, especially as the tones are being brightened, mixed and even grayed.

Inside the formal living room, creating intimacy within a large space was of paramount importance. With the custom upholstered couches and antique coffee table, an oasis is created that's perfect for a small gathering. Dramatic 12-foot velvet drapes frame a unique stone fireplace with a glass back that affords an unusual vantage of the back patio.
The custom faux finish on the walls reflects light to make the room bright and airy during the day, and dramatic and luxurious after dark.

This living room has wonderful natural light and great views of the outdoors. We used custom, woven to size natural shades by Hartmann & Forbes that filter the light without blocking the view. The fireplace was custom designed and fabricated from limestone. The chairs are original designs by Harvey Probber and the coffee table is a vintage William Platner. Accent table is vintage Eileen Gray
