Burrow & NestThe room is designed with the palette of a Conch shell in mind. Pale pink silk-look wallpaper lines the walls, while a Florentine inspired watercolor mural adorns the ceiling and backsplash of the custom built bookcases.
A French caned daybed centers the room-- a place to relax and take an afternoon nap, while a silk velvet clad chaise is ideal for reading.
Books of natural wonders adorn the lacquered oak table in the corner. A vintage mirror coffee table reflects the light. Shagreen end tables add a bit of texture befitting the coastal atmosphere.

Gold Clemente Wall sconces spotlight family pictures and whimsical art pieces. Notice the custom wall paneling with an inset fit perfectly for the mounted TV. This wall paneling aligns so perfectly with a thoughtfully curated bookshelf that covertly opens to a (Surprise!) home office.
Mitchell BrockGreat Room - A contemporary home with a roof made up of two offset inverted rectangles that integrate into a single building supported by a solid wood beam. The visual impact is stunning yet the home integrates into the rich, semi-arid grasslands and opens to embrace the inspired views of Nicola Lake! The laminated wood beam is not really supported by the port hole openings, instead it is really part of a solid structural wood support system built up within the building envelope and providing lateral support for the home. The glazed windows extend from the underside of the roof plane down to the floor of the main living area, creating a ‘zero edge’ water view and the L shaped deck does not fully extend along the width of the lake façade so that uninterrupted lake and hillside views can be enjoyed from the interior. The Home Co.Down-to-studs renovation that included floor plan modifications, kitchen renovation, bathroom renovations, creation of a primary bed/bath suite, fireplace cosmetic improvements, lighting/flooring/paint throughout. Exterior improvements included cedar siding, paint, landscaping, handrail.
Jaeger & Ernst Custom CabinetmakersThe Arts & Crafts Movement encompasses the work of the Greene Brothers, Gustav Stickley, and notably, the genius of Rene Mackintosh and his wife, M. McDonald. Their art informed and invigorated the spiritual and contemplative aspects of the movement.
For this design our client imposed no boundaries on the project, except that the room serve as both library and guest room. The existing fireplace, squeezed into a corner, posed an initial challenge, but now appears well intended for the space.
Warm butternut was used to soften the room. Organic details appoint the bookcase columns and the surrounding passages of paneling. Windows were framed with angled panels, and sills were deepened to invite a relaxed view of the yard. The bed is tucked in its own niche, limiting its intrusion upon the room’s other uses.
Multi-function rooms require deft design, and exceptional craftsmanship. The art of renowned glass artisan, Wayne Cain, contributed masterfully to this room’s appeal. Design and detail are hallmarks of the craftsmanship from Jaeger and Ernst.
