Here is a another view of the family/living room section of an open concept we remodeled. This angle looks down into the living room from the upstairs open stairwell. White French Doors open onto the deck from the kitchen area and are trimmed in the same white moldings surrounding the large windows on either side of the fireplace. The dark stained hardwood floors flow throughout the area.

We added crown moulding to and continued the new red oak flooring in this cheerful room. Larina Kase of Larina Kase Interior Designs in Wayne, PA, designed the beautiful pink chest of drawers. The main projects in this Wayne, PA home were renovating the kitchen and the master bathroom, but we also updated the mudroom and the dining room. Using different materials and textures in light colors, we opened up and brightened this lovely home giving it an overall light and airy feel. Interior Designer Larina Kase, of Wayne, PA, used furniture and accent pieces in bright or contrasting colors that really shine against the light, neutral colored palettes in each room. Rudloff Custom Builders has won Best of Houzz for Customer Service in 2014, 2015 2016, 2017 and 2019. We also were voted Best of Design in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 which only 2% of professionals receive. When it comes to the best decor for small living rooms, you can either choose to keep things light and airy to open up the space, or embrace the cosiness of the smaller area you have by going for warm colours and filling the room with your favourite accessories.

When it comes to the layout of your living room, it will depend on what pieces of furniture you have – but how do you choose what living room furniture to add, whether you’re refreshing your living room design or starting from scratch? The best place to start is with the seating – one corner sofa will usually seat three to four people, and if that’s all you think you’ll need, then you can leave it at that.
