This is a Vermont Castings Defiant stove. This is the original flagship stove design made back in the late 70's. However this is much more efficient with a burn time of over 12 hours. This stove was installed in a beautiful "party barn" custom built to look old. The homeowner is very pleased with the heat as well as how it complements the design of the space.

The lounge in the restaurant downstairs provides a cozy respite from the busy street. The directive from Rockwell Group was to make it feel like, "the inside of an old cigar box." We had planks milled for the walls with deep "V-grooves" and stained them a dusty brown. We bought Dwell Studios leather arm chairs, and Hans Wegner styled chairs to flank the 2 tree trunk tables. The rug is from ABC carpet, and is an over-dyed lavender oriental rug. The theme of browns, greys and pale purples prevails. Photo by Meredith Heuer.

Our studio reimagined this kitchen to make it suitable for entertaining family and friends. We altered the layout to an open-concept floor plan and changed the yellowish paint to a beautiful white, creating a bright, airy vibe. The elegant dark wood floors were retained, and complementary design elements were added to make the flooring pop. The stunning countertops perform a dual function as backsplash tiles, creating a harmonious ambiance in the space. We added gorgeous chairs and stylish pendants with a gold finish that adds a glamorous touch. We carved a beautiful home bar in the space with open concept shelving and charcoal black lower cabinets for storage. The star feature in this area is the backsplash tile in geometric patterns, which add a sophisticated, luxe element. ---Project completed by Wendy Langston's Everything Home interior design firm, which serves Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, and Indianapolis. When it comes to the layout of your living room, it will depend on what pieces of furniture you have – but how do you choose what living room furniture to add, whether you’re refreshing your living room design or starting from scratch? The best place to start is with the seating – one corner sofa will usually seat three to four people, and if that’s all you think you’ll need, then you can leave it at that. Placing your sofa along the longest wall helps to make the most of the space, but think about where you want the focus of the room to be, too. If you need more seating, look at armchairs that offer comfort but don’t take up too much space – cramming a room with too many large armchairs is something to avoid. Apart from the standard bookcases, side tables and TV units, there are a few other handy living room storage ideas you can invest in. As mentioned before, if you have the room and budget for it, a built-in storage unit could be the way forward. With a well-built unit you could hide your TV, DVDs, players, books, video consoles and all sorts away in one place. If you don’t quite have a large enough area for one, you could look at shelving – either side of the chimney breast is a great place to install shelving if you have one in your living room.
