From the custom fabricated outdoor mirrors to the integrated lighting in the lounge deck and the tailor made stepping stones and feature plant pots this garden is bespoke from beginning to end. Minimal garden treatments were provided to accentuate the impressive pool, home and outdoor room elements. Designed for luxuriant living inclusions such as drip irrigation and LED garden lighting contribute to this award winning project. The main features of this landscape include the diamond sawn white sandstone pier caps, the brahman granite herringbone driveway, impressive formal plantings with features of specimen succulents in recycled pots. Based on the a logarithmic spiral this garden required extensive protection of existing structures through the demolition of an existing swimming pool and the construction of a sweeping spiral like face brick retaining wall. The wall has a double bull nose capping and is raked and curved to meet the existing contours. The garden was intended to be functional, productive, provide habitat for a range of native fauna, relaxation and recreation for the owners. Features of this sustainable landscape include the hardwood bespoke day bed, circular frog pond, custom made and sourced special dry pressed bricks, and the sustainable, productive and elegant plantscaping. Sweet Smiling LandscapesSweet Smiling Landscapes
This beautiful property is located in the hills above of Montecito with 360 degree of views onto the Channel Islands and the surrounding mountains. Inspired by the Japanese landscape design principal of the borrowed landscape the gardens on this property serves as a kind of picture frame from which to view the natural beauty of its surroundings. This 15-year-old costume-built home was crafted with all the style and workmanship ship found in Villa or Château in the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, the garden design was not as well thought out as the house was. Most of this property receives baking sun, drying winds and is in an extremely high fire danger area. Do to these factors many of the plants on the property were unsuitable for their location. The original planting scheme was also lifeless and colorless. Poor landscape maintenance had left many of the plants on the property sick and dying. We came in to revive this landscape, breathing new life into it. Creating a drought tolerant and fire wise landscape was of utmost importance to these clients. Staying true to the more formal landscape styles found in Southern Europe we also want to create an opportunity to design seamlessly blend with its natural surroundings. We did that by incorporating a lot of California native plants. This vast property also contains an avocado orchard and a vineyard. By adding California native plants the property is inviting in native birds and insects that help keep pollinate the orchard and vineyard and keep pest problems at bay. Because these clients enjoy harvesting from their land we added elements of edible landscaping to this project. We filled pottery and planter beds with fruit trees, culinary and medicinal herbs as well as flowers that can be used in cut flower arrangements. Lastly, we went through carefully pruning diseased plants, treating pest problems an improving the soil. Now the landscape is not only more beautiful it is more protected against fire, is more water wise and integrate into its surrounds with a wholistic approach.

Andrea has created a wonderful area for the family. A 50 by 35 blacktop is the perfect size to house a half-court allowing for a full three-point line all the way across. This is a Pro Dunk Platinum Basketball System that was purchased in July of 2012. It was installed on a 50 ft wide by a 35 ft deep playing area in Wallkill, NY. Our client contracted us to design and build a functional and interesting water front project that had to be family friendly!! They wanted a cozy fire pit area that also contained a 3 piece natural rock bubbler. They also wanted a spa area with lounger space for sunbathing as well as a beach area for sandcastles and beach toy storage. No expense was spared with a custom pergola, natural rock retaining and steps as well as landscape lighting and well placed trees and shrubs. Concrete edge and aggregate beds make for a low maintenance dream yard!!

Decomposed granite pathways serve as extensions of the light-brushed concrete terraces, and their shared monochrome palette complements the warm colors of the house. The brick from the house is also repeated in the garden walls. Boxwood hedges, honey locusts, and a specimen topiary all add rich beauty without distracting from the stunning architecture.
