The front entry of this red brick Georgian style home is decorated for the holidays with colorful lawn ornaments, container gardens, evergreen garland and a wreath on the door.

A shallow concrete urn from Campania International is perched on an 18" curved granite seatwall with a 3" bluestone cap. Filled for the holidays and winter season, they bring a touch of color in an otherwise dreary winter landscape.
Chiltern Garden Design
A formerly blank entranceway of plain lawn and gravel driveway has been given an extensive uplift by way of this circular entrance garden. The focal circle of porphyry sets has ripples of planting emanating from it, set in gravel, with yew hedging and evergreen trees and shrubs forming the bulk of the planting so that it is green and welcoming all year round, with pops of seasonal colour, especially through the darker winter months.
The original gates were shabby and lightweight, and not in the right place. We helped the homeowner apply for planning permission to move the driveway entrance so that parking is in a less obtrusive place, and replaced the gates with automated hardwood curved gates set into impressive brick columns. Brick walls are softened with flint panels at the front entrance, tying into the vernacular of the Chilterns.

The Matloff family took a wholistic approach to renovating the home and garden of this Windsor Park garden, seeking to achieve the greatest possible sustainable impact. They used the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification criteria as a guide and assembled a team of accredited professionals to collaborate from the very inception of the project.

Auch im Winter verliert ein japanisch gestalteter Garten nichts von seiner Faszination.

Concrete pavers with small mexican pebbles. Mondo Grass and FX Luminaire pathway light. The front areas of this landscape in Bel Marin Keys, Novato, were transformed from a tired, water thirsty-lawn into a contemporary setting with dramatic concrete pavers leading to the home's entrance. A variety of low-water plants for sun and part shade complete this project front yard transformation. Installed in February 2014. More plant updates early 2015. The back areas of this transformation is featured in a separate project: Modern Water-Side Landscape Remodel http://www.houzz.com/projects/456093/Modern-Water-Side-Landscape-Remodel---Lawn-Replaced--Novato--CA

In a neighborhood full of thirsty, homogenous lawns, the Matloff family garden completes and complements the aesthetic defined by the home's English Manor architecture. While the look is traditional, the garden is an efficient water and energy-saving, habitat expanding powerhouse.

Terraced spaces were designed to tackle the sloping nature of the site. A large deck with a fire pit, butterfly chairs and shade trees is linked to 2 level lawns for play, bordered and separated with lush garden beds with contrasting foliage and form to create year round interest and screening.

Modern home landscape design in Sonoma County. Elegant stone entry stairs were designed to accommodate custom corten steel planters. These planters provide an informal material color contrast to the entry.

Our client’s wanted classically styled gardens, built upon a semi-formal framework. They requested level spaces for the kids to play on and a swimming pool, which was to be the hero of the project. The result speaks for itself.
This large garden is made up of different ‘pockets’ – a vegetable garden, formal front garden, large grassed area for the kids to play, a pool area, a patio for entertaining and a small relaxation garden that houses a stunning water feature.
Our planting schedule included Viburnum, Japanese Box Hedging, Hydrangea’s, Gardenia’s and Ornamental Pear trees.
The result was a stunning semi-formal classic garden that adheres to a young families growing needs.
