Lars Remodeling & DesignPairing their love of Mid-Century Modern design and collecting with the enjoyment they get out of entertaining at home, this client’s kitchen remodel in Linda Vista hit all the right notes.
Set atop a hillside with sweeping views of the city below, the first priority in this remodel was to open up the kitchen space to take full advantage of the view and create a seamless transition between the kitchen, dining room, and outdoor living space. A primary wall was removed and a custom peninsula/bar area was created to house the client’s extensive collection of glassware and bar essentials on a sleek shelving unit suspended from the ceiling and wrapped around the base of the peninsula.
Light wood cabinetry with a retro feel was selected and provided the perfect complement to the unique backsplash which extended the entire length of the kitchen, arranged to create a distinct ombre effect that concentrated behind the Wolf range.
Subtle brass fixtures and pulls completed the look while panels on the built in refrigerator created a consistent flow to the cabinetry.
Additionally, a frosted glass sliding door off of the kitchen disguises a dedicated laundry room full of custom finishes. Raised built-in cabinetry houses the washer and dryer to put everything at eye level, while custom sliding shelves that can be hidden when not in use lessen the need for bending and lifting heavy loads of laundry. Other features include built-in laundry sorter and extensive storage.
CairnsCraft Design & RemodelRustic-Modern Finnish Kitchen
Our client was inclined to transform this kitchen into a functional, Finnish inspired space. Finnish interior design can simply be described in 3 words: simplicity, innovation, and functionalism. Finnish design addresses the tough climate, unique nature, and limited sunlight, which inspired designers to create solutions, that would meet the everyday life challenges. The combination of the knotty, blue-gray alder base cabinets combined with the clean white wall cabinets reveal mixing these rustic Finnish touches with the modern. The leaded glass on the upper cabinetry was selected so our client can display their personal collection from Finland.
Mixing black modern hardware and fixtures with the handmade, light, and bright backsplash tile make this kitchen a timeless show stopper.

Caliber WoodcraftThis large kitchen in Coto de Caza, CA was falling apart. Heavy storage units attached to the pantry doors had caused one of the doors to separate and fall off, and the space inside the pantry was poorly designed. We removed the existing doors, hinges, drawers, glides, and moldings, and began rebuilding the kitchen cabinetry. The pantry was redesigned to maximize the space with five roll out drawers and a partition for brooms and aprons. The space under the built in microwave was converted to drawers, and the set of base cabinets under the cooktop converted to bank upon bank of easy to access, usable drawer space. A waste roll out system was installed with two 50qt. waste containers. The island had been cobbled together around the wine fridge, so we tore out ineffectively built boxes and replaced with cabinets to give a cohesive, clean look. The cabinets were then refaced with non-porous super matte thermofoil, which is extremely durable and easy to clean. New dovetailed birch drawer boxes are installed on Blum soft close glides, and the doors on Blum soft close hinges. This hardware is top of the line and carries a Lifetime Warranty.
Amos Tile LVFully remodeled kitchen. Both islands demolitioned to make room for one large island. Drop ceiling added for lighting, cooktop hood and looks phenomenal. All cabinetry was refinished and refaced. countertops look immaculate. everything came together very nicely.

TVL Creative Ltd.This project is one of the most extensive TVL scopes to date! This house sits in a phenomenal site location in Golden and features a number of incredible and original architectural details. However, years of shifting had caused massive structural damage to the home on both the main and basement levels, resulting in shifting door frames, split drywall, and sinking floors. These shifts prompted the clients to seek remodeling assistance in the beginning of their renovation adventure. At first, the scope involved a new paint and lighting scheme with a focus on wall repair and structural improvement. However, the scope eventually evolved into a re-design of the entire home. Few spaces in this house were left untouched, with the remodeling scope eventually including the kitchen, living room, pantry, entryway and staircase, master bedroom, master bathroom, full basement, and basement bedrooms and bathrooms. Expanding the scope in this way allowed for a design that is cohesive space to space, and creates an environment that captures the essence of the family's persona at every turn. There are many stunning elements to this renovation, but a few favorites include the insanely gorgeous custom steel elements at the front entry, Tharp custom cabinetry in the kitchen and pantry, and unique stone in just about every room of the house. Our clients for this project are both geologists. This alone opened an entire world of unique interest in material that we have never explored before. From natural quartzite countertops that mimic mountain ranges to silky metallic accent tiles behind the bathtub, this project does not shy away from unique stone finds and accents. Conceptually, the clients' love for stone and natural elements is present just about everywhere: the dining room chandelier conceptually takes the form of stalactite, the island pendants are formed concrete, stacked stone adorns the large back wall of the shower, and a back-lit onyx art piece sits in a dramatic niche at the home's entry. We love the dramatic result of this renovation and are so thrilled that our clients can enjoy a home that truly reflects their passions for years to come!

Hunt's Kitchen DesignWe like to call this style "Desert Contemporary." The idea is to combine natural materials with contemporary elements for a more "transitional" result. The cabinets are a warm wood, Shaker cabinet. The counters are a simple white quartz. The backsplash is a beige glass 4x8 tile and the floors are travertine. Enjoy!

Ginger Rabe Designs, LLCKiss the Cook. This elegant mix of transitional and modern sits up in the Hills of Anaheim capturing the views and breezes that encompass this elegant kitchen. The full remodel of the once dark kitchen was transformed to be light and bright and evokes all the senses for this family of 5. With a new walk in pantry we built to store all the essentials, as well as a hidden appliance cabinet under the microwave. We also designed and built the custom hood that is the centerpiece to the design, along with the striking mixed stone tile that was imported from Italy. The large island is one complete slab that sits on top of our custom island that has storage all the way around so that everything has its place. The design was one for entertaining with ease and a place to gather as a family. The desk area is great for business or school and the custom pulls from Top Knobs finishes off the custom cabinet designed and built by our Firm. We incorporated a bar/ beverage area so that serving guest is easily done between the kitchen and dining room. Every detail from lighting to tile, to how flowing through the kitchen and space was considered within this custom kitchen.
