Chester County Kitchen & BathFull kitchen remodel and new luxury vinyl tile. This homes original kitchen needed a personality and we gave it one. Echelon Cabinetry in the Bedford door style in maple wood with a nutmeg stained finish make the new kitchen warm and inviting. Getting rid of the original kitchens dry walled soffits and doing cabinetry and trims to the ceiling added storage and a more appealing look. The granite countertops and tile backsplash work together nicely with the new vinyl tile floors. Vinyl tiles can be grouted and look just like real tile with all the durability but are softer and warmer on the feet. The new vinyl floorings are really something you should definitely check them out if you are considering new flooring for a kitchen or bath remodel.
Kitchen Design ConceptsWith a little bit of love, you can transform your kitchen into a space you love to spend time in! Many people are so used to their surroundings that we don’t realize what a little bit of paint and new finishes can do to change a room. That’s exactly the case of this kitchen. Actually, the cabinetry was already refinished prior to us coming into the picture, our clients couldn’t wait! So, we had the opportunity to incorporate those finishing touches to really seal the deal of this space. Today, this kitchen is up-to-date and classic. It really will stand the test of time! Cabinets
The cabinetry was already refinished prior to us doing our magic. But we love how the crisp and clean finishes of the cabinetry pairs so well with the new finishes and materials we incorporated. To elevate the cabinetry, we embellished the doors and drawers with 5 inch “Emerald” hardware from Top Knobs (TK288BSN).
Countertops
At first glance, you may have noticed we incorporated beautiful marble countertops to this space. So, what if we told you those countertops are not made of marble? Actually, not even close! These countertops are a beautiful 3cm Cambria quartz in the finish “Ironsbridge”. The specs of grey and veining in the countertops might have fooled you! We love the way it looks in this space.
Backsplash
Subway tiles have been around a long time. Still, we love the classic look of subway tile and our clients are always requesting it! A simple way to add interested to subway tile is to utilize tile with beveling, create a contrasting pattern, and add contrasting grout color, as we have done here. Here we have utilized a 3×6 Daltile Rittenhouse Square with beveled edges as the main tile. Then, over the range, we have framed the tile and changed the pattern to herringbone to add some pop!
Fixtures
The fixtures of this space are classically styled as well. From Blanco, we have the main sink in a Precis Super Single Bowl in White paired with an Atura kitchen faucet with pull-down spray in stainless steel. Then on the island, we have a Precis Medium Bowl in White and an Atura Pulldown bar faucet in stainless steel, also from Blanco.
StoneshopWarm & inviting farmhouse style kitchen that features gorgeous Brown Fantasy Leathered countertops. The backsplash is a ceramic tile that looks like painted wood, and the flooring is a porcelain wood look.

Glenbrook RemodelingThe kitchen, butler’s pantry, and laundry room uses Arbor Mills cabinetry and quartz counter tops. Wide plank flooring is installed to bring in an early world feel. Encaustic tiles and black iron hardware were used throughout. The butler’s pantry has polished brass latches and cup pulls which shine brightly on black painted cabinets. Across from the laundry room the fully custom mudroom wall was built around a salvaged 4” thick seat stained to match the laundry room cabinets.
Dropout Cabinet Fixtures LLCThis Spice Rack/Storage System is accessed by an out and downward motion, making the unreachable, reachable. This 4" filler cabinet comes down to counter top level making even the top area, convenient and easily accessible. The contents in this photo shows one of optional 32 pod K-Cup Rack (2racks possible per unit) that takes the place of 3 shelves. The remaining 3 shelves hold standard spice bottles. This Spice Rack/Storage System is a right-facing unit. Left facing units are also available.
Whiski Kitchen Design StudioIn this 1905 Tudor home, the intent of this design was to take advantage of the classic architecture of the home and incorporate modern conveniences.
Located in the Joseph Berry Subdivision in Detroit, this stellar home presented several design challenges. The most difficult challenge to overcome was the 11” slope from one end of the kitchen to the other, caused by 110 years of settling. All new floor joists were installed and the floor by the side door was then recessed down one step. This created a cozy nook when you first enter the kitchen. A tiered ceiling with strategically planned cabinetry heights and crown molding concealed the slope of the walls at the ceiling level.
The second challenge in this historic home was the awkward foot print of the kitchen. It’s likely that this kitchen had a butler’s pantry originally. However it was remodeled sometime in the 70’s and all original character was erased. Clever pantry storage was added to an awkward corner creating a space that mimicked the essence of a butler’s pantry, while providing storage desired in kitchens today.
Keeping the large footprint of the kitchen presented obstacles with the working triangle; the distance from the sink to the cooktop is several feet. The solution was installation of a pot filler over the cooktop that added convenience and elegance (not sure about this word). Not everything in this project was a challenge; the discovery of a brick chimney hiding behind plaster was a welcome surprise and brought character back honoring the historic charm of this beautiful home.

Braswell Design+BuildOff-white Decora maple cabinets, an Ethan Allen chandelier and Seapearl quartzite grey and green countertops transformed an outdated kitchen into a peaceful sanctuary. A high gloss ceramic handmade tile, Light Ocean from Quemere International, reflects light from the kitchen's large window. Stamped concrete island cabinets provide an enchanting color contrast to the Chantille cabinets. Amish wood stools offer understated seating. Top Knobs trunk pulls in polished nickel contribute to this kitchen’s high class.
The existing kitchen floor plan in this 20-year-old Fairfax Station did not require enlarging. The homeowners upgraded to a double oven and converted from electric to gas.
In the breakfast room, a Hinkley chandelier above a Lee Industries table accommodates eight, with an open view of an updated fireplace. After removing the wall between living and breakfast rooms, in-house lead carpenter Bruce designed and built the classic columns on either side of the arch between the rooms. The rooms are painted in Benjamin Moore Titanium, and the wet bar boasts an Arabesque Carrara marble backsplash.
