This kitchen shows a classic design in a mix of greys with a high gloss finish, Stainless steel handle-less base units, which has then been mixed with White quartz worktops. These colours really compliment the feature Granite flooring in the room. The kitchen has stainless steel handle-less base units, which has then been mixed with White quartz worktops. The customer also specified a custom Granite breakfast bar, which is moveable. The breakfast bar goal post style sits over the island and has the option to pull out to create a breakfast bar over hang for bar stools. This bespoke feature was created by the stone fabricators Stone Connection based in Wheldrake in York.

I designed this kitchen during my time at Harvey Jones. The client knew she wanted to feature colour but was concerned due to the narrowness of the room. By opting for natural limestone flooring and bright white walls to contrast, we were able to bring in beautiful blues and still maintain an airy, open feeling. I later designed (and Handley Bespoke built), the centre blue bookcase to complement the chosen kitchen cabinetry, featuring a hidden door leading into a cosy drinks snug. This is a great example of how bespoke builds can be made to fit in with your existing cabinetry.

It’s a complete kitchen remodeling with a dining area design. Shaker style custom paints white solid wood cabinet with soft close. One Custom made Island with custom paint. The flooring was porcelain with a light cappuccino color. We used ceramic tiles for the white backsplash. We used Quartz white countertop with a farmhouse sink. The appliance finish was stainless steel to match the design and the final look. The result was an open, modern kitchen with good flow and function.

"This beautiful design started with a clean open slate and lots of design opportunities. The homeowner was looking for a large oversized spacious kitchen designed for easy meal prep for multiple cooks and room for entertaining a large oversized family. The architect’s plans had a single island with large windows on both main walls. The one window overlooked the unattractive side of a neighbor’s house while the other was not large enough to see the beautiful large back yard. The kitchen entry location made the mudroom extremely small and left only a few design options for the kitchen layout. The almost 14’ high ceilings also gave lots of opportunities for a unique design, but care had to be taken to still make the space feel warm and cozy. After drawing four design options, one was chosen that relocated the entry from the mudroom, making the mudroom a lot more accessible. A prep island across from the range and an entertaining island were included. The entertaining island included a beverage refrigerator for guests to congregate around and to help them stay out of the kitchen work areas. The small island appeared to be floating on legs and incorporates a sink and single dishwasher drawer for easy clean up of pots and pans. Complete remodel of a kitchen and dining room. The room was opened up to create a large open floor plan. A coffered ceiling was added giving the room an elegant feel. The white shaker cabinets complimented by the polished Sea Pearl Quartzite kept the pallet light and airy. The multi colored mosaic tile at the far end of the kitchen creates a great focal point. The Satin English Gold faucets and the Honey Bronze hardware contrast nicely without being overbearing on the white cabinets. The wood flooring keep the large open space warm and welcoming. Finished with a beautiful chandelier and two coordinating pendants over the island this is a kitchen anyone would love to cook in.

We inherited the planning permission from another team. Then we helped our client and his building team to adapt it for construction. It was actually quite challenging as it is not your usual new build. This gorgeous small newly built house had to fit in within its historic surroundings, both with its materials but also scale and rather unusual shape. The start on-site happened in April 2021 and the building was finally completed in late 2022.

How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh.
