Kitchens can be beautiful and practical. Spending the day in this kitchen is more of a treat that a chore!
BlueStone Construction, LLC
The major objective of this home was to craft something entirely unique; based on our client’s international travels, and tailored to their ideal lifestyle. Every detail, selection and method was individual to this project. The design included personal touches like a dog shower for their Great Dane, a bar downstairs to entertain, and a TV tucked away in the den instead of on display in the living room.
Great design doesn’t just happen. It’s a product of work, thought and exploration. For our clients, they looked to hotels they love in New York and Croatia, Danish design, and buildings that are architecturally artistic and ideal for displaying art. Our part was to take these ideas and actually build them. Every door knob, hinge, material, color, etc. was meticulously researched and crafted. Most of the selections are custom built either by us, or by hired craftsman.

A dream home in every aspect, we resurfaced the pool and patio and focused on the indoor/outdoor living that makes Palm Beach luxury homes so desirable. This gorgeous 6000-square-foot waterfront estate features innovative design and luxurious details that blend seamlessly alongside comfort, warmth, and a lot of whimsy.
Our clients wanted a home that catered to their gregarious lifestyle which inspired us to make some nontraditional choices.
Opening a wall allowed us to install an eye-catching 360-degree bar that serves as a focal point within the open concept, delivering on the clients' desire for a home designed for fun and relaxation.
The wine cellar in the entryway is as much a bold design statement as it is a high-end lifestyle feature. It now lives where an expected coat closet once resided! Next, we eliminated the dining room entirely, turning it into a pool room while still providing plenty of seating throughout the expansive first floor.
Our clients’ lively personality is shown in many of the details of this complete transformation, inside and out.

Modern Farmhouse kitchen with shaker style cabinet doors and black drawer pull hardware. White Oak floating shelves with LED underlighting over beautiful, Cambria Quartz countertops. The subway tiles were custom made and have what appears to be a texture from a distance, but is actually a herringbone pattern in-lay in the glaze. Wolf brand gas range and oven, and a Wolf steam oven on the left. Rustic black wall scones and large pendant lights over the kitchen island. Kitchen Design Concepts
One of the biggest investments you can make in your home is in your kitchen. Now with the Revive model, you don’t have to break the bank to get an updated kitchen with new finishes and a whole new look! This powder blue kitchen we are sharing today is a classic example of such a space! The kitchen had a great layout, the cabinets had good bones, and all it needed were some simple updates. To learn more about what we did, continue reading below!
Cabinets
As previously mentioned, the kitchen cabinetry already had great bones. So, in this case, we were able to refinish them to a painted cream on the perimeter. As for the island, we created a new design where new cabinetry was installed. New cabinets are from WWWoods Shiloh, with a raised panel door style, and a custom painted finish for these powder blue cabinets.
Countertops
The existing kitchen countertops were able to remain because they were already in great condition. Plus, it matched the new finishes perfectly. This is a classic case of “don’t fix it if it ain’t broke”!
Backsplash
For the backsplash, we kept it simple with subway tile but played around with different sizes, colors, and patterns. The main backsplash tile is a Daltile Modern Dimensions, in a 4.5×8.5 size, in the color Elemental Tan, and installed in a brick-lay formation. The splash over the cooktop is a Daltile Rittenhouse Square, in a 3×6 size, in the color Arctic White, and installed in a herringbone pattern.
Fixtures and Finishes
The plumbing fixtures we planned to reuse from the start since they were in great condition. In addition, the oil-rubbed bronze finish went perfectly with the new finishes of the kitchen. We did, however, install new hardware because the original kitchen did not have any. So, from Amerock we selected Muholland pulls which were installed on all the doors and drawers.

Our Client's wishlist included multiple chefs in the same space, so two islands were a must. Countertops are made by Caesarstone. This space measures 22' x 17', but can easily overflow into the Prep Kitchen just behind the stocked Pantry.
Hunley faucets and pot filler remind us of the English architecture with a distressed brass finish. The honed farmhouse sink is from Stone Forest. Appliances are from SubZero Wolf, and the matte black pendants are made by Savoy House.
Elysium Designed
This Award Winning 411m2 architecturally designed house is built on an elevated platform perfectly positioned to enjoy the city lights and northerly breezes from the rear deck. An upper level ceiling height of 3m combined with a cool colour palate and clever tiling provides a canvas of grandeur and space. Modern influences have dramatically changed the authentic home design of the conventional Queensland home however the designers have made great use of the natural light and kept the high ceilings providing a very light and airy home design incorporating large windows and doors. Unlike old Queenslander designs this modern house has incorporated a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. Staying true to the roots of original Queensland houses which feature wooden flooring, the internal flooring of this house is made from hardwood Hermitage Oak. It’s a strong and resilient wood that looks great and will stand the test of time. This home also features some added modern extras you probably won't see in traditional Queensland homes, such as floor to ceiling tiles, separate butlers’ pantries and stone benches. So, although aesthetically different from traditional designs, this modern Queensland home has kept all the advantages of the older design but with a unique and stylish new twist.
