We designed this bespoke hand-made galley kitchen, which allows the client to make the best use of the space and have something high quality that will last forever. The brass accents including the brass bridge tap adds warmth to the space. We knocked open that wall to put in wall-to-wall bi-folding doors so you can have an indoor-outdoor kitchen (when the weather is good!) to enlarge the space. Photographer: Nick George

Entering the open plan kitchen, living and dining room, you are greeted by an abundance of natural light that gracefully filters through the sheer neutral curtains. The pale oak flooring provides a seamless flow throughout the entire home. In the heart of this area lies a sleek handleless kitchen with a large island spanning the width of the space. A seating area with cosy window seat and stylish armchairs exudes comfort and elegance. The rich wood dining table with brass inlays is surrounded by luxurious dining chairs. Their coral pleated velvet upholstery effortlessly complements the sophisticated navy and burnt orange color palette that defines this interior.

For this client we looked at a number of designs to help them decide whether to extend or not. In the end they decided to open up the ground floor. We widened the patio doors, took down all the internal walls and created an open plan kitchen/dining/living space that the client loves.

The kitchen is practical and welcoming and is perfect for a bust family. It also incorporates a spiral wine cellar. CLPM project manager tip - spiral cellars can be installed in most ground floor locations. You do not need to have a basement. You generally don't need planning permission to install them and they can usually be installed in under a week without much disruption.

A wonderful kitchen created in a contemporary extension to an old stone farmhouse. The glass roof and the dual access to the garden and a rear courtyard gives this a real indoor/outdoor feel. Photo Styling Jan Cadle, Colin Cadle Photography
