This tiny kitchen sits in the corner of this top floor apartment. A tight angle made it difficult to maximise storage - especially with the hot water service in the corner under the bench. The blue/green glass splashback extends up behind the narrow canopy and makes a splash of colour in an otherwise neutral colour scheme. Supplemented by a small mobile chopping block benchtop space is reasonable given the space. A small pantry to the left supplements the storage shown.

The kitchen was renovated with custom made black walnut veneer cabinets, with brushed metal kicks, back painted upper glass cabinet doors with caesarstone counters in 'Sea Foam'. The backsplash is recycled glass tile from Oceanside. In the pantry wall a new Miele wall steam oven, convection/steam oven and coffee center were installed. It was important to have some open shelving so I designed an open shelf over the Miele induction cook top.

The kitchen is defined by a large double sided plastered fireplace. The cabinets are all horizontal grain flat panel with light upper cabinets and dark lower cabinets. The Quartzite countertops provide beauty and function. Appliances are all Thermador including the 48" range and 60" fridge. A large butler's pantry comes off the kitchen enabling all appliances to stay off the main kitchen counters. Floating wood ceilings also clearly define the space. You can add a breakfast bar or counter to your existing kitchen units, or stick with a good old-fashioned dining table if you don’t need the extra work surfaces. How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?
