JOHN EADONThe Harris Kitchen uses our slatted cabinet design which draws on contemporary shaker and vernacular country but with a modern rustic feel. This design lends itself beautifully to both freestanding or fitted furniture and can be used to make a wide range of freestanding pieces such as larders, dressers and islands. This Kitchen is made from English Character Oak and custom finished with a translucent sage coloured Hard Wax Oil which we mixed in house, and has the effect of a subtle wash of colour without detracting from the character, tonal variations and warmth of the wood. This is a brilliant hardwearing, natural and breathable finish which is water and stain resistant, food safe and easy to maintain.
The slatted cabinet design was originally inspired by old vernacular freestanding kitchen furniture such as larders and meat safes with their simple construction and good airflow which helped store food and provisions in a healthy and safe way, vitally important before refrigeration. These attributes are still valuable today although rarely used in modern cabinetry, and the Slat Cabinet series does this with very narrow gaps between the slats in the doors and cabinet sides.
Emily & Greg commissioned this kitchen for their beautiful old thatched cottage in Warwickshire. The kitchen it was replacing was out dated, didn't use the space well and was not fitted sympathetically to the space with its old uneven walls and low beamed ceilings. A carefully considered cupboard and drawer layout ensured we maximised their storage space, increasing it from before, whilst opening out the space and making it feel less cramped.
The cabinets are made from Oak veneered birch and poplar core ply with solid oak frames, panels and doors. The main cabinet drawers are dovetailed and feature Pippy/Burr Oak fronts with Sycamore drawer boxes, whilst the two Larders have slatted Oak crate drawers for storage of vegetables and dry goods, along with spice racks shelving and automatic concealed led lights. The wall cabinets and shelves also have a continuous strip of dotless led lighting concealed under the front edge, providing soft light on the worktops.

Naked KitchensThe Westward Ho kitchen is the best of both worlds, blending traditional style with modern design. The grain-visible Sandringham Pine fronts are the star of the show, concealing an enviable amount of storage including a corner larder and a concealed walk-through to the laundry room. The floating shelf above the sink is a spot equally perfect for herbs, personal trinkets, or unique wine glasses.
The rich green of the Sandringham Pine contrasts beautifully against the modern white backdrop, creating a contemporary Shaker kitchen that is both stylish and functional. The breakfast bar in oak has been designed at table level, creating an inviting and comfortable spot to dine, socialise, and admire the view. The design also includes two fabulous larders with spice racks and drawers, one of which is kitted out as a coffee station.

Studio Black InteriorsLocated in the Canberra suburb of Old Deakin, this established home was originally built in 1951 by Keith Murdoch to house journalists of The Herald and Weekly Times Limited. With a rich history, it has been renovated to maintain its classic character and charm for the new young family that lives there. This kitchen has shaker panelling and a 2PAC Dulux finish, super white stone benchtop and brass fixtures.

PlaceDesign Kitchens and InteriorsThis serene kitchen has been hand painted in Farrow and Ball James White (No. 2010) and Cooking Apple green (No. 32) on the island. The storage has been maximised by the American style fridge freezer with a run of tall units housing the ovens and a gorgeous pantry. Worktops are in a Carrera effect quartz. Practical and light.
Style So SimpleNewly built townhouse set in beautiful Killarney Co. Kerry. The client's brief was to create an interior that felt light and tranquil throughout the year. While offering separate zones to chill and relax, especially in their open-plan Kitchen Living Dining area. This was to be completed without adding clear divisions to the interior.
Higham FurnitureThis Rangemaster Nexus SE 110 induction looks great in this contemporary Shaker kitchen. The inset handles are our bespoke handle range and they come in a wide variety of finishes. The false chimney hides an integrated extractor, and the freestanding shelves on either side keep the wall from looking too cramped. The shelves are painted in French Grey Mid by Little Greene whilst the cabinets are in Ho Ho Green.
Born & Bred StudioA spacious Victorian semi-detached house nestled in picturesque Harrow on the Hill, undergoing a comprehensive back to brick renovation to cater to the needs of a growing family of six. This project encompassed a full-scale transformation across all three floors, involving meticulous interior design to craft a truly beautiful and functional home.
The renovation includes a large extension, and enhancing key areas bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms. The result is a harmonious blend of Victorian charm and contemporary living, creating a space that caters to the evolving needs of this large family.
Tom HowleyThis contemporary shaker style Kavanagh design is painted in our dark green, Avocado. A sense of warmth and richness is created through the use of natural oak veneer on the open shelves and inner cabinetry, while the burnished brass handles provide style and sophistication. The central island with sociable seating is surrounded by top of the range, Wolf and Sub Zero appliances, a bespoke bar area, glazed cabinets and exquisite worktops specified with a burnished brass Quooker tap and Perin & Rowe sinks.
