Clean contemporary lines win over in this upscale Dallas high rise. The original kitchen was dark and outdated. All the walls were black the cabinets were maple and the floor was brown stained concrete. The kitchen was in a corner so the layout stayed the same to help keep the plan open. Fun, vibrant, contemporary kitchen with high-end style is what this client requested and red came up again and again. We really embraced the idea and went bold with this red hot glass backsplash, and high-gloss white cabinets. The black matte countertop gave us a grounded backdrop and really let the rest of the kitchen shine. Special features: Custom StyleCraft flat panel cabinets in high-gloss finish and push to open cabinets and drawers with a painted glass backsplash.

This kitchen was a collaboration between senior designer, Jeff Eakley, and Kenny Alpert of KA Designs. Although it features contemporary-styled high-gloss cabinetry and flat panel doors, the decorative lighting, tray ceiling, pocket door, furniture and other finishes give it a traditional twist. The cabinetry is Bilotta’s contemporary line, Artcraft – the perimeter features the Portofino door with its integrated handle in a high gloss white. The island by contrast is a warmer walnut veneer also in a high gloss finish. The appliances are Miele’s all white collection so they fit beautifully into the surrounding white cabinets. The limited hardware that was used on the appliances is in a polished chrome finish to match the plumbing fixtures, lighting above the island, and the base of the table for the banquette seating near the pocket door. The countertops are quartzite and the backsplash are a mosaic of marble and quartz tile. The island has seating for two, while the banquette in the corner seats four. The flooring is a dark hardwood. With a massive island as the centerpiece; this kitchen is contemporary in style, modern in technology, and is designed for comfort for the whole family. The door style is Carlisle Slab in Maple by Echelon Cabinetry in two tones. The upper cabinetry finish is Alpine White and the lowers are in Onyx. The island and surrounding countertops are quartz in Brittanicca by Cambria. In the island is the super single undermount Blanco sink with a Moen faucet. The island also houses a programmable 48 bottle built-in wine fridge. A new state of the art 48-inch GE Monogram stove with four burners, a griddle, a grill, and one and a half ovens was added. A new french door refrigerator with a bottom freezer slide out was added as well. The homeowners opted for under and above cabinet lighting to not only light the countertop work space but to also light her favorite pieces displayed above the cabinets.
