The cool, bright white of the worktop in Marble Carrara effect is a nice contrast to the warm appeal of the satin lacquer colour in jaguar green and the elements in old oak. The planning as well plays with contrasts: massive kitchen block and block-like peninsular unit vs. floating base unit line being mounted on the wall.

Spacieuse, élégante et épurée, cette cuisine a de quoi vous faire rêver ! Nous avons tout refait du sol au plafond, en passant par l’électricité, la plomberie et même la peinture. En ce qui concerne l’éclairage, nous avons installé des spots dans les meubles haut ainsi qu’un luminaire au plafond dont l’intensité et la teinte sont réglables avec une télécommande. Mr & Mme B peuvent donc changer d’ambiance en fonction de leurs envies du moment. On retrouve, comme dans toutes mes créations, beaucoup de coulissants pour des cuisines toujours plus fonctionnelles. L’harmonie des couleurs est également au rendez-vous, avec une grande table en bois assortie au plan de travail et à la crédence. J’ai d’ailleurs encouragé mes clients à prendre des caissons gris assortis avec les tiroirs et le sol de la cuisine. All the wood used in the remodel of this ranch house in South Central Kansas is reclaimed material. Berry Craig, the owner of Reclaimed Wood Creations Inc. searched the country to find the right woods to make this home a reflection of his abilities and a work of art. It started as a 50 year old metal building on a ranch, and was striped down to the red iron structure and completely transformed. Le cahier des charges de nos clients pour cette rénovation de leur espace cuisine était de le moderniser et de le rendre plus chaleureux. Nous avons ici conçu l'implantation de cette cuisine avec tous les caissons plafond en placoplâtre peint en noir faisant écho au tracé des plans de travail. L'idée était de permettre aux clients d'incruster des spots, ce qui n'était pas possible avant avec leur plafond d'origine. Nous avons donc choisi de proposer un mur d'armoires au fond de de la pièce, avec une niche décorative habillée d'étagères et d'un spot à gauche. La façade d'armoire, elle, dissimule un passage vers l'arrière cuisine à droite. Cette petite touche d'originalité a beaucoup plu à nos clients. Elle permet surtout d'intégrer parfaitement le passage vers une autre pièce, et de rendre la cuisine visuellement plus grande. Côté finitions, nous avons opté pour des façades laquées blanc brillant avec des plans de travail en bois. De grands poignées Coloris Titanio ont été posées pour donner du caractère à l'ensemble. Le long mange-debout en Fenix Noir au dos du retour péninsule invite à s'attabler.

You can add a breakfast bar or counter to your existing kitchen units, or stick with a good old-fashioned dining table if you don’t need the extra work surfaces. There are a huge variety of island designs to cater to different needs – you can have sinks, ovens, hobs, wine storage and all sorts of drawers and organisers built-in, you can have separate bars and counters that extend from your island, or you could go for a kitchen island on wheels to make your kitchen layout more versatile.

How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

When picking out kitchen units and cupboard styles for a fitted kitchen, you’ll first want to consider the more practical questions – how many units do you need? How many cupboards and drawers do you need? Do you need extra kitchen storage built into your units? It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Next you can consider kitchen cabinet style and colour. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh.
