This warm and inviting Tuscan inspired kitchen is located in a lovely little neighborhood in Durham, North Carolina. The stainless steel appliances and Kohler stainless steel Simplice faucet provide a nice contrast to the dark bronze hardware, tile inserts, and light fixtures. The existing breakfast room light fixture, table, and chairs blend beautifully with the new selections in the room. New hardwood floors, finished to match the existing throughout the house, work fabulously with the warm yellow walls. We deleted an ugly existing corner brick pantry, to create a small and nimble walk-in style pantry. The other hard part to this renovation was retaining as many floor tiles as possible. Luckily the clients had stored away x11 floor tiles in the garage, so we were able to make the island foot print bigger and centralised. The floor tiles were able to be laid seemlessly.

We tailored this major kitchen update to meet the needs of our client for whom regularly gathering her adult children and their families for home cooked meals is a tradition hailing from her southern heritage. The Wolf range, Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, commercial grade range hood and strategically placed prep sink were designed to support her love of cooking and large scale meal preparation. By replacing a smaller island and peninsula with an expansive sixteen foot island we greatly increased both the storage and the seating capacity, providing plenty of space for family and friends to comfortably gather in this true heart of the home. Other must haves like the built in coffee maker, dedicated wine refrigerators and bar area, and a built in buffet niche for storing several dish collections make this a modern kitchen with traditional roots that is ideal for entertaining and relaxing.

This tiny kitchen located on the Main Line is hidden within an orginal old farmhouse in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. This gorgeous kitchen is not only charming, it also has very clean modern lines and elements. The clients selected the classic white, painted shaker cabinets from Fabuwood Cabinetry. The selection of all white materials, including a traditional white subway tile, white quartz countertops, and a simple white shaker door style gives this kitchen the sleek, modern style. The old laminate floor was removed to expose the beautiful, orginal hardwood floors that were refinsihed to bring out the more traditional, rustic farmhouse look. Although this kitchen is small, the white cabinets and finishes give the illusion that the space is much larger. This cozy kitchen is elegant, clean and stunning. The design kept the style of the kitchen true to the farmhouse style of the home while also adding a touch of modern to complete the design.
