This condo, in a converted warehouse in midtown Asheville, had good “bones,” but the kitchen and bathrooms needed refreshing. Practical lower-cabinet drawers, modern simple lines, a new breakfast bar, and efficient cabinet layout gave the kitchen new life and usefulness. We replaced the vanity and shower in the master bathj, and the powder/laundry room got a stylish, new vanity. The owner was happy that he didn’t need to be present to be sure the project was done well and done right.

An efficient kitchen was created with this design and adding a small island was useful in keeping with the theme. Note there are two islands in this design for entertaining.

Our designer removed the wall that separated the kitchen from the rest of the home and designed a large island as the center point of the new design.

ArtichokeArtichoke
Artichoke worked with the renowned interior designer Ilse Crawford to develop the style of this bespoke kitchen in a Grade II listed Regency house. We made two furniture ‘elements’ providing the main functions for the kitchen. Care has been taken not to interfere with the original interior architecture of the room. Tall Georgian windows enable light to flood over the furniture as well as providing delightful views of the grounds. Limited palettes of fine quality materials help create the feeling of an art installation, enhancing the drama of this fabulous room. Primary materials: Bookmatched Statuary marble and hand burnished gloss pigmented lacquer. The kitchen scullery is in English oak, finished in soap, a traditional Georgian period finish.
