This remodeling project in North Dallas opened up a large ranch house to light from the front and the back. The St. Charles Kitchen was remodeled and a large tray ceiling gave height to the room. The lovely semi-custom table is by Unruh Furniture . Beautiful photograph is by Kendall Stoy, Photography.

Residing in Philadelphia, it only seemed natural for a blue and white color scheme. The combination of Satin White and Colonial Blue creates instant drama in this refaced kitchen. Cambria countertop in Weybourne, include a waterfall side on the peninsula that elevate the design. An elegant backslash in a taupe ceramic adds a subtle backdrop. This home’s design has Craftsman style at its core, with contemporary accents: cedar ship-lap siding with quartzite veneer on the exterior, interior walls of Marmorino plaster, and Albertini Lift-N-Slide doors for which to enjoy outdoor/indoor living. Other features include an infinity-edge pool, a large wine cellar, a standing seam metal roof, travertine paving and pool coping, and bluestone pathways. The project also included remodeling the Spring House, an out building over 100 years old. Used for entertaining, it now houses a pizza oven on the patio. A petanque court and large, contemporary art pieces complete the exterior landscaping for the residence. So many things to love about this space. Open plan and designed for entertaining. The tiles make a bold and colourful statement, paired with the timeless beauty of a marble island with a waterfall to one end and a wine fridge to the other.

This new kitchen was designed to not only be highly functional, but to take advantage of the wonderful natural light in the house. Light and dark surfaces, and reflective backsplash as well as mirrored lights above the waterfall island bounce the light throughout the space.

Oak is not a dirty word, especially in an American Bungalow styled home’s kitchen! The oak interior of the custom blue painted cabinetry, not only pulls in the styling of the main run of cabinetry, it also lends durability. Oak is a hard wood, think of the many oak floors you’ve walked across in your lifetime! Hence, Oak is a wonderfully durable option for a cabinet interior & will stand up to the test of time & cooks. (And, based on all these cookbooks, we are sure these homeowners will be cooking in THIS kitchen!)
