This kitchen laundry area needed a completed makeover. To achieve this we removed a part of the wall between the kitchen and laundry and blocked off a doorway in the laundry that wasn't used. We also added a large single lift window and extended the bench top to outside with added storage under.

A butlers pantry is tucked out the back. This provides additional storage, an extra prep area or a work station for a caterer. Note the high staggered cupboard to allow greater depth of storage while allowing the lower cupboard to be less invasive. Photo's Ben Wrigley

This West Pennant Hills renovation had a two main objectives: to improve the space around the island and reorganise the storage space for greater efficiency. Designer David Bartlett turned his attention to the layout of the room and repositioned a number of elements to enhance the work flow. "We needed to create an efficient work triangle," he says, "and I needed to find a way to include more appliances within the space."

The kitchen overlooks the adjacent dining area and is integrated with a large mud room that's designed to be invisible from the primary living spaces. It features a large pantry cabinet with built-in cappuccino maker, refrigerator and microwave. Upper cabinets have been eliminated over most of the counters in favour of a large window that overlooks the landscaped back yard.

This stylish kitchen and walk-in pantry sit within a beautiful Federation home built in 1912 in Melbourne's leafy east. The homeowner's had a great vision for this space and some structural work, removing walls and moving doorways, was required to modernised the home's footprint to suit today's living. This kitchen while very contemporary sits in harmony with the period features of the home such as the ornate cornices, archways and brickwork. We love the striking monochromatic colour scheme of black and white and the touches of glamour that elevate this space like the Qasair rangehoods, Sub-Zero Wolf appliances and the beautiful marble benchtops. This kitchen was designed and renovated by the team at Alfano Renovations. We used high quality and high-end materials in this relatively small kitchen. The cabinets are a painted finish in a shaker style door and manufactured by Candlelight Cabinetry and the counters are by Cambria Quartz. Alfano Renovations is a complete renovations company that has two showroom locations. One of the showrooms is located in Garwood, NJ and the other in Eatontown, NJ. Both showrooms display kitchen cabinets, kitchen and bath tile, plumbing fixtures and counters such as granite and quartz. All photos are taken by @AmandaMohrPhoto on Instagram
