This project was one of my favourites to date. The client had given me complete freedom to design a featured kitchen that was big on functionality, practicality and entertainment as much as it was big in design. The mixture of dark timber grain, high-end appliances, LED lighting and minimalistic lines all came together in this stunning, show-stopping kitchen. As you make your way from the front door to the kitchen, it appears before you like a marble masterpiece. The client's had chosen this beautiful natural Italian marble, so maximum use of the marble was the centrepiece of this project. Once I received the pictures of the selected slabs, I had the idea of using the featured butterfly join as the splashback. I was able to work with the 3D team to show how this will look upon completion, and the results speak for themselves. The 3Ds had made the decisions much clearer and gave the clients confidence in the finishes and design. Every project must not only be aesthetically beautiful but should always be practical and functional for the day to day grind... this one has it all!

This gorgeous Hamptons Kitchen is a dream kitchen in a blue and white cabinet combination and Caesarstone bench top,. A superb large and wide island bench perfect for everyday meals and entertaining with pendant lights as a focal point and central to both the outdoor entertaining and swimming pool areas. Plenty of drawers throughout the kitchen for heaps of storage and functionality. A good size butlers pantry is separated from the main kitchen by a barn door. The butler's pantry boasts heaps of bench space and storage and an added bonus of a study/office nook as well.

This large high-end residential home set records in Yeronga for off-river land sales for blocks of land less than 1000m2 when sold in 2016 to rugby league legend Wayne Bennett. The beautiful home was meticulously designed by the team at grayHAUS to take in the Queensland weather all year round. Thoughtful positioning of louvred windows was the main focus to capture the breezes that came up the Brisbane River, creating a cross ventilation environment that varied little in temperatures minimising the need for air conditioning. The large open plan living, dining & kitchen provided the ultimate entertainment space as they all linked to the outdoor alfresco area that was picture framed by an above ground fully tiled swimming pool, which could be heated during the winter months for year-round use. Other attributes to this house is a 3 car garage with store room, master retreat on the middle level with a private balcony, large butler’s pantry with separate appliances and fridge spaces for the master chef of the house, media room fitted with surround sound system, 3 large bedrooms with ensuite and bathroom on the upper level all linked to a teenagers retreat / multi-purpose room. An electronic smart system was also installed to the house so themes could be set for lighting, while AC controls, intercom and alarm systems were also integrated into this system. This home was one of the first high end builds designed and built by the team at grayHAUS and it still proves to be a success by re-setting the benchmark for off-river property sales when sold recently in 2019.

White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh. Of course, grey kitchens are the neutral colour choice du jour and can be paired with pale and rich shades alike if you want your fitted kitchen cupboards to contrast with your worktop, splashback, floor, or all of the above. Exposed shelving and storage is also popular for eclectic, Scandi and industrial-inspired looks, so you could opt for glass-fronted cabinets or no wall-mounted cabinets at all. Remember that this will require more restraint in what you can store and more effort in keeping it looking presentable compared to what is stored away hastily behind cupboard doors. However, there are now lots of pull out compartments and drawers with trays and shelving that can act as mini kitchen pantries, and you can install handy cupboard organisers that fit onto the inside of the door to make the most of your cupboard space. You can also look at corner drawers and cupboards that open up to reveal lots of extra storage. Rails or small shelves along your kitchen walls or splashback can help with hanging utensils or pans, or storing small items like herbs and spices in an usually empty space.
