We completed this dramatic Kensal Rise project in collaboration with Trevor Brown Architects, the firm responsible for refurbishing and extending our client’s home. The interior was designed with a view to creating a classic yet contemporary space for entertaining. A large roof light extending over the side return, and stylish crittall doors flood the room with natural light. This bright space is the perfect match for Little Greene’s striking, almost black, Obsidian Green hue. From the seating area to the internal doors, the statement monochrome palette brings a luxurious modern edge to our painted shaker furniture.

Step into this vibrant and inviting kitchen that combines modern design with playful elements. The centrepiece of this kitchen is the 20mm Marbled White Quartz worktops, which provide a clean and sophisticated surface for preparing meals. The light-coloured quartz complements the overall bright and airy ambience of the kitchen. The cabinetry, with doors constructed from plywood, introduces a natural and warm element to the space. The distinctive round cutouts serve as handles, adding a touch of uniqueness to the design. The cabinets are painted in a delightful palette of Inchyra Blue and Ground Pink, infusing the kitchen with a sense of fun and personality. A pink backsplash further enhances the playful colour scheme while providing a stylish and easy-to-clean surface. The kitchen's brightness is accentuated by the strategic use of rose gold elements. A modern minimalist kitchen in New Malden. The two tone handleless kitchen furniture from German manufacturer Leicht, is off set perfectly with a back painted glass splashback. The Kubus sink and Quooker tap are set below the large kitchen window that floods the room with light. Appliances from Siemens maintain the very modern finish along with Philips Hue lighting. Both the island and worktops are finished with engineered stone from Caesarstone.

This bespoke family kitchen was part of the renovation of a period home in Frome. The ground floor is a half basement and struggled with dark rooms and a layout that did not function well for family life. New windows were added to the adjoining dining room and crisp white finishes and clever lighting have transformed the space. Bespoke cabinets maximised the limited head height and corner space. Designed in a classic shaker style and painted in Hopper by Little Greene with classic burnished brass ironmongery, it is a timeless design.

This stylish and sophisticated dark grey German handle less kitchen in Hayes features an ‘L’ shaped layout with a peninsular island. This allows for the open plan living space to be perfectly zoned. There is a practical ‘work-space’ on one side with the Siemens induction hob, ovens, fridge and freezer and seating on the other which is great for entertaining. Silestone Nilo has been used for the worktops and Silestone Kensho on the waterfall Island. Both from Cosentino.

We enjoyed designing this kitchen for our client in Kent. What makes it special is the statement splashback, made from exquisite Arabescato Rosso marble. Its red and earthy hues create a striking contrast against the blue-tone shaker cabinets, infusing the space with a sense of warmth and depth. This harmonious interplay of colors and textures brings together a captivating kitchen design that is both visually appealing and practical, and a true centerpiece of the house.

It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Next you can consider kitchen cabinet style and colour. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh.
