Rudloff Custom BuildersThe office is one of the most elegant “man caves” we have ever seen! Retaining and repointing the gorgeous stone walls, we tore down the roof of an existing covered porch, added a new one, walls and windows to create this “gentleman’s office”. At either end of the room, this space’s focal points are the custom designed shelves we built directly into the stone walls. The room is finished off with raised panels on the ceiling and lighting recessed directly into the soffit.

Chalk Hill LLCThis home office supports a small business with occasional client consultations. Set just off the entrance to the home, it admits professional visitors with minimal disturbance to the residential zones.
A wrap-around Formica task surface provides ample space to spread projects out, facilitates sharing of office equipment and eases collaboration between the two workstations. A meeting table and big screen monitor enable consultations with clients to be away from the clutter of the work area. Luxury vinyl plank flooring is hard wearing and easy-rolling for office chairs and dampens acoustic reflections.
Cedar recycled from old utility poles was used for the meeting table and desk panels, and mahogany recovered from old wine barrels was milled into edging to tie the various components together. Inexpensive pine planks, stained to match the cedar, frame a large window overlooking a stress-relieving koi pond.
Glass City StagersDuring this quarantined life period of Coronavirus, I finally got the time to renovate our dining room into my new home office space. I implemented Benjamin Moore's Decorators white paint color, new lighting, and hardwood floors, Pottery Barn window panels with their area rug and antique mirror with Pier One chairs and added a personal touch of framed photography from my (late) uncle. I love the adorable champagne table (that I refer to as a mushroom) that I snagged from Art Van's closing sale.

SK LuxxeI felt that the office space shouldn't carry over the glamour and formality of the home so it could be functional for work. I chose to go for yellow walls with white and black furniture, on the work side. Yellow is believed to increase brain activity whilst opening up the creative process in the homeowners.
