Wine Cellars by Coastal
The bottles in this custom wine cellar Los Angeles are stored on their side, a position highly conducive to proper wine storage. This is because the wine inside the bottle should remain in almost constant contact with the cork, to prevent it from drying out. If the cork were to dry out, it would shrink and allow air into the bottle, causing the wine to spoil due to oxidation. When oxidized, the wine has an unpleasant taste and smell.
