This couple stole my heart. They have two great daughters and two great twin Pug sisters ;). Dad, Mario, is an avid golfer and wanted a putting green and long range driving net in his back yard plus an integrated system for his family to enjoy the outdoor space with him. We created a great combination of his golf requirements while creating planting beds, dry river streams, patio space and a space for the trampoline to be transformed to a gazebo in the future. This large scale project consisted of updating the existing tennis court, detached garage and adding a modern office space. The tennis court was completely re-finished with the addition of new surrounding fencing. The detached office is a custom, modern design that accommodates the client’s home business needs. The custom water features nicely compliment the expansive landscaping and custom patio area for the clients to relax and enjoy this spectacular property with the whole family.

A Backyard Resort with a freeform saltwater pool as the focal point, a spa provides a spot to relax. A large raised waterfall spills into the pool, appearing to flow from the koi pond above. We extended a streambed to flow from behind the outdoor kitchen, all the way to the patio, to spill into the koi pond. A Sports Court at one end of the yard with putting greens meander throughout the landscape and the water features. A curved outdoor kitchen with a large Viking grill with a warming drawer to the sink and outdoor refrigeration. A Pavilion with large roof and columns unite the landscape with the home while creating an outdoor living room with a stone fireplace along the back wall, while still allowing views of the yard beyond.

ActiveIn architecture, a folly is a design wherein aesthetic extravagance transcends function. In other words, they're a hoot. Land+Shelter’s pond pavilion and swing elevates the humble swimming hole to new heights of design. With this graceful arched pond swing we offer visitors the chance to choose their own level of excitement. Choose your step, then jump! In the pond pavilion, a simple steel frame and dark neutral curtains frame the landscape beyond as an ever changing painting. The compact pavilion plan combines a fireplace, water, and shade - all the essential elements of pond enjoyment in one sleek package. Swimming holes aren’t supposed to be elegant; we beg to differ! This fun pavilion and swing project offered us the chance to combine landscape and architecture in a custom steel design package truly unique to this family estate.
