Our team transformed this once neglected lakefront cottage into a one-of-a-kind sanctuary to be used as a year-round residence. These creative homeowners were craving an outdoor living space that felt naturalistic while still offering the comforts of an upscale retreat. In response, we designed and curated a fully integrated living space including expansive cedar decking with built-in hot tub that appears suspended over the steep meadow-inspired pollinator garden below. Bluestone steps create a sturdy, non-slip walk down and native grasses and drought tolerant perennials offer screening and a natural buffer to activity on the water; delivering color and textural interest for this unique outdoor retreat all year long.

Front yard make-over. Building on existing elements (Palm trees) we removed a lot of outgrown and outdated material and freshened up the patio borders with colorful canna's, various bromeliads, Alocasia California, and a fresh layer of mulch and landscape pebbles. Landscape boulders break up the lines and specimen Bromeliads provide touches of interest.

Almost every side of the house features an activity, off the game room is a nice sitting area for watching the new bocce ball court. From many vantage points you can see into parts of the rest of the house, and all windows have operable Lutron roller shades for privacy.

This little, under 100 sq foot playhouse received a complete revamp inside and out. It had ton's of potential but had been long ignored. We decided to design a space that can be used now by the school age grand kids and that could transition to being a cool hang out for teens as well as adults. Without knowing that "She Sheds" would become a thing, we already had that in mind!
