Brown leather cushioned side chairs with brushed aluminum backs work with the wood look floor and gray sectional. They swivel so there is a view to the TV/fireplace, bar and pool area out side.

Using The Sims 4, I built and furnished a sustainable home using recycled woods and materials. Home furnishings would hypothetically be found second-hand for a more environmentally conscious design choice.

A rustic walnut wood top bar/sofa table overlooks the sectional and wall mounted TV. With a full bar area behind the seating, friends can sit at the bar or play darts and still see the fireplace and the TV hung over the fireplace. Fur pillows and throws along with heat in the floor keep you warm while watching the game.

The family room serves a similar function in the home to a living room: it's a gathering place for everyone to convene and relax together at the end of the day. That said, there are some differences. Family rooms are more relaxed spaces, and tend to be more kid-friendly. It's also a newer concept that dates to the mid-century. Historically, the family room is the place to let your hair down and get comfortable. This is the room where you let guests rest their feet on the ottoman and cozy up with a blanket on the couch.
