This was a tiny bathroom in a 1903 Victorian house, made even smaller by dark wood wainscoting, chair rails, crown molding, and a claw foot tub/shower.. The desired effect was to be light, airy, and contemporary even though the space was small. Adding an awning window in the shower helped add natural light and air flow. The owner wanted to retain the old baseboards and doors to tie it in to the rest of the house.

This repeat client asked us to design two separate bathrooms for their growing sons, utilizing the land-locked space of two small jack and jill baths that shared one common shower. We had to get creative in our design and space planning in doing this and incorporated elements true to each sons personality and styles. Each bathroom is now a space that their sons can grow into and enjoy through their teen years.

The clients wants a tile that looked like ink, which resulted in them choosing stunning navy blue tiles which had a very long lead time so the project was scheduled around the arrival of the tiles. Our designer also designed the tiles to be laid in a diamond pattern and to run seamlessly into the 6×6 tiles above which is an amazing feature to the space. The other main feature of the design was the arch mirrors which extended above the picture rail, accentuate the high of the ceiling and reflecting the pendant in the centre of the room. The bathroom also features a beautiful custom-made navy blue vanity to match the tiles with an abundance of storage for the client’s children, a curvaceous freestanding bath, which the navy tiles are the perfect backdrop to as well as a luxurious open shower.

The stunning feature wall at the bath really takes centre stage, while the walk in shower with bespoke dwarf and anthracite slate tray makes full use of the space available. The stunning 'Water Circle' taps and bath filler from Crosswater UK are a great feature that really brings out the client's unique vision and character for her new bathroom.
The curved bespoke vanity unit adds another layer of luxury to the room, and the 'Dekton Laos' stone top and bath surround by Cosentino UK and Ireland compliment the combination of dark and light grey tiles perfectly. The recessed lighting tops it all off and really helps to give the room that hotel spa feel.
Overall a perfect combination of practicality, luxury and contemporary trends, this bathroom is a real showstopper!
