Having such a large chunk of land to garden allows for prolific massings of perennials and the space to compliment them with pairings of contrasting plants. Folia forges, out of eight solid steel sculpted petal-shaped pieces, painted in a gunmetal grey epoxy powder paint, a complete and mammoth Fire Pit of magnificent proportion and astounding design, resembling a flower.
Precise slots in each petal-shaped fold are custom slits to fit a rotisserie skewer to optimize the Folia’s functionality and purpose beyond bonfires and campfires. Elevating this striking structure is a base foundation and a plate to securely contain the fire within this wood-burning fire pit and to prevent fire-ground contact.

Campion Walker Landscapes
Spectacular red granite boulders through out the rough landscape, harsh winds, intense heat and sometimes, even snow, were all horticultural challenges and inspirations on this beautiful Mediterranean seaside property.
Nicholas Walker and his team worked in conjunction with his brother Malcolm to create a stunning series of Belgian Blue Stone terraces and pathways to connect the diverse sections of the property and integrate the indoor and outdoor living experience.
They designed a sheltered cactus oasis, organic culinary garden and an intimate Ipe observation deck as virtual rooms linked by the elegant stone pathways and framed by the sea.

Every kids dream! The modern design, combined with the craftsmanship displayed by our carpenters, turned this playhouse into something special. The playhouse was built completely of Cedar and has some awesome features such as the climbing wall, rope and pulley, and custom cedar ladder.

A collection of deciduous trees were strategically planted around the house to allow the sun to warm the house in winter and the shade to keep it cool in the hot summer months. Stone from the site has been used for landings, walls and secret paths which the owners’ grandchildren love to explore. The planting is in sweeps and masses and has been selected for its speed to establish and adaptation to the climatic conditions while offering beautiful colour, texture, shape and edible produce!
What the client says:
Nicola collaborated with a local artist to craft both the architecture of our home and garden. She has brought a deep understanding of this landscape and given us a place that is both functional and inspiring.

Mark Payne Landscape Design
A project that we have overseen for several years now through different phases and evolutions this garden truly changes character with each season. A Grade II listed farmhouse dating back to the early 17th century; a contemporary wing was planned and our brief was to create a garden that embraced both the traditional and the modern. The swimming pool and terrace sit amidst a wildflower meadow which banks up to enclose the space providing a private sunbathing idyll. The meadow extends to a small orchard where fruit trees are surrounded by cosmos, cornflower and wild poppies. Large prairie style planted beds showcase grasses that provide both movement and architectural form catching both the early morning light and frost. An avenue of parasol trained plane trees lead from the house through the orchard to the natural pool. A collaboration with award winning blacksmith James Price produced the bespoke lightweight pergola providing a structure over the dining terrace for the newly planted wisteria. Mark’s signature flourishes can again be seen in the hand-laid terrace mosaics using the salvaged tiles from the original 17th century roof. - Mark Payne Landscape Design
