While this client is not on the road, he loves to cook for his family and closest friends. This is why this kitchen has the top of the line modern appliances, gas cooktop, and a whole back up pantry storage around the corner with full size refrigerator, freezer, and a wine fridge. Client asked us for a sleek and functional kitchen that has a dual purpose: it acts as an every day kitchen for the family, and it can be closed off from the areas of the house with hidden doors to become a catering kitchen for the parties. In lieu of traditional hood and pendants, we designed an incredible stainless steel hood that supports cantilevered structure with LED panel providing functional lighting over the island. This design was inspired by a fashion runway show catwalk and this kitchen certainly is a show stage for culinary excellence. The sleek design allows you to move around the kitchen without protruding catching handles. The doors and drawers incorporate state of the art technology allowing for simple tap or push on the surface for the cabinetry to open. This is especially useful when your hands have food on them when you’re cooking as you are able to use your knee or thigh to activate doors to open. Even refrigerator and freezer have a fully integrated hidden custom pull handle that looks like a vertical reveal – this allows for good grip to pull the heavy doors with suction, and the white acrylic panels are very easy to keep clean. Positions of two sinks on the island were specifically placed in the locations to facilitate the steps in food preparation - having them both on a single working surface makes it easier to work between them without dropping food or dripping water on the floors while preparing for cooking. Island incorporates a tall counter to sit at for a quick bite or just to stand around with you friends as you are preparing a meal. . This island truly is the heart of the kitchen and the heart of this home. Photography: Craig Denis

Beautiful warm wood and white kitchen with large size island that seats 5. Off to the right through the hallway is a pantry and butlers serving area that runs adjacent to the dining room. It is about mixing materials in today's kitchens. So, a combination of cabinetry stain and paint finishes adds interest to a kitchen.

What a kitchen this turned out to be! The white maple mock inset-style cabinetry combined with the subtle details of the wire brushed white oak island, matching floating shelves and matching decorative wood hood pull this kitchen space together beautifully. #11919

If you fear that a variety of materials and colors will look “too busy”, then consider this masterpiece of mixed elements that created a warm, rich, and layered one-of-a kind environment. Custom cabinetry combines frameless full overlay with flush inset construction; doors are both Shaker and slab. While most of the perimeter is lightly-stained rift cut white oak, the island and paneled backsplashes are Farrow & Ball’s “School House White”; the hutch is their pale blue-gray “Pigeon”. Two styles of Honey Bronze hardware comingle with the hutch’s simple polished nickel knobs. Open hutch shelves are rift cut oak; their gallery rails are brass. Faucets are polished nickel and the island pendant is aged iron. Even the countertops display variation: the sink wall, cooking nook and hutch are “Bianco Extra” marble, 2” thick with waterfall ends at the sink; 2” thick slabs with standard overhangs at the rangetop; and a thinner slab with traditional ogee edges on the hutch. Offering contrast on the island is 2” thick honed and leathered “Jet Mist” granite. The charming vent hood incorporates a scalloped detail and more oak. Slender furniture legs enhance the hutch, while 4” brass cuffs on the square island legs add sparkle. This project was designed in collaboration with Andy Toth and Leitenberger Design Group. This Carmel Valley complete remodel truly defines an open-concept living space that is elegant, functional, and full of beautiful finishes. Taking center stage in the kitchen is a gorgeous, large island that features cabinetry in a very on-trend jewel toned blue hue that perfectly accents the primary palette of white and grey throughout the rest of the space. Other beautiful details include the custom hood, walk-in pantry, and the unique marbled mosaic subway tiled backsplash. Subtle brass fixtures and accents accentuate the modern feel while top of the line appliances add the finishing touch for this home chef. Fortunately, one of the best benefits of living in southern California are the mild temperatures that make it possible to enjoy outdoor living spaces nearly year-round. The addition of a large sliding door in the family room expanded this client’s access to a lovely outdoor patio and eating area, complete with recessed heating for cooler months, while a beautiful custom fireplace/entertainment center created the perfect spot for the whole family to enjoy.

This kitchen was designed for cooking, baking, and candy making. We tiled the main work triangle flooring for durability and easy cleaning. The client can cook and bake all day using the new 48” pro range and 36” induction cooktop. Countertop space is not lacking in this two island design. Taj Mahal quartzite countertops are beautiful and great for prepping dough or a cold surface for rolling candy. Fieldstone Cabinetry in walnut with a natural finish sprinkled with some macadamia painted finish gives the kitchen an elegant home feel mixed with all the professional appliances. I love the double stainless steel hoods. This kitchen has it all from form to function.
