The generous proportions of the front door and surround in the entrance hallway were emphasised by being painted black, whilst the contemporary stained glass panels add a softness. The geometric black and white tiled floor is reminiscent of an original Victorian tiled hallway, but reimagined in a more contemporary style. And the panelling underneath the stairs is in a contemporary v-groove style, which has been used to create hidden shoe & coat storage.

BEFORE & AFTER: We love making an entrance, this carousel shows the journey as we transformed the redundant under stairs vault into a shower room and utility room at our project in Maida Vale, West London. We love the encaustic cement, patterned floor tiles and simple bespoke coat rack with hand painted blue/grey paint finish in the entrance hall. There is also useful storage draws under the seat for shoes This stylish, urban cloakroom design has a great mix of complementing key pieces.

Before and After, Woodstock Neighborhood, Portland, OR - Twenty some years ago the owner built a porch and roof himself. (He did a fine job btw) @cronen_building_co built a new porch and put down slate for the new surface. We managed to save the original roof which kept a bit of his original design and saved money. Our lead carpenter, Tim Goodwin, made it all fit together so well that the new porch and roof all look part of he original design...only better
