Bethune/Goodhue & Associates, Inc.
Bethune/Goodhue provided comprehensive interior design and project management services for the gut, remodel and addition to this Vail vacation home. The existing arched entries into this space were removed, inviting guests into the home, and allowing full appreciation for this beautiful new stair. Both the custom stair and lighting were fabricated by Crystal Glass Studios out of Carbondale, CO, incorporating wood, metal and art glass with a stunning end result.

I worked with my client to create a home that looked and functioned beautifully whilst minimising the impact on the environment. We reused furniture where possible, sourced antiques and used sustainable products where possible, ensuring we combined deliveries and used UK based companies where possible. The result is a unique family home.
We retained as much of the original arts and crafts features of this entrance hall including the oak floors, stair and balustrade. Mixing patterns through the stair runner, antique rug and alcove wallpaper creates an airy, yet warm and unique entrance.

Stairs create views as they meander through homes- as you descend this particular staircase you see a beautiful, intricate chandelier and then turn the corner to see a framed view of sculpture.

These walls had 1970's Gib board linings which weren't that flash so we added new Anaglypta wallpaer to one side. We went for a very traditional 70's pattern as a nod back to the houses past.
