The fence siding matches the house. Many hydrangea vines are beginning to cover the fencing to green up the 'walls' of the garden. The large red container allows planting close to the tree roots and adds colorful interest to the area. The glass 'flowers' are still bright in the winter. The glass and begonia colors echo each other.

This Rear Garden originally designed by Kim Hoyt RLA was re- planted with a palette of easy care perennials , ground-cover and small trees. The Bluetone patio accented by brick complements the original stacked stone wall. Large urns and bowls filled with evergreens provide a focal point in the space. Custom BBQ and dining seat maximize the use of space in this urban garden. The natural bamboo fence provides privacy and texture without overwhelming the space.
Accent Landscapes
This landscape incorporates an outdoor living space with a generous patio, large fire pit, and built in seating. The use of artificial turf, xeric plantings, and the incorporation of the surround native landscape make this a very attractive and low maintenance landscape .

Plant design, installation and photography by Chris Kolb of Ark Gardens. It exhibits a native plant roadside border in winter. The evergreen female American Holly (Ilex opaca) trees provide red berries for song birds and they also structure the plant design. They are the "bones" of the garden. Also seen are the Yellow Twig Dogwoods (Cornus sericea flaviramea) that brighten the New England landscape in the dim months.
FormLA Landscaping
Lush isn't always green! This silvery, soft and fernlike plant provides structure and bold yellow flowers much of the year. When blooming it draws the eye. When it is not, it sets off the varied greens of nearby foliage.
