This 3,036 sq. ft custom farmhouse has layers of character on the exterior with metal roofing, cedar impressions and board and batten siding details. Inside, stunning hickory storehouse plank floors cover the home as well as other farmhouse inspired design elements such as sliding barn doors. The house has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, an office, second floor laundry room, and a large living room with cathedral ceilings and custom fireplace.

Behind these sliding doors is an art room. This room has the best views in the house. The proximity to the living space encourages daily use of this space. The doors allow the room to be closed off when needed.

Home office with custom made shaker style cabinets. Desktop is made from floor joists pulled from a 100 year old home. The office table was custom made from reclaimed wood from the salvage yard and welded metal. Entire room has wainscoting along the lower portion and is painted with a light grey paint (Martha Stewart - Whetstone Gray).

This room already had cabinets lining the walls and budget wouldn't allow for removing them. We used White primer to paint the laminate cabinets and distressed them with Annie Sloan paint. Copper pipes were cut and fit to plumbing pipe connectors to fashion shelving brackets and hangers. An antique copper light was purchased from a second hand store to add a farmhouse vibe to this hobby/craft room.

The dual-sphere chandelier in this library is the perfect excuse to be well-read.
Burrow & Nest
This home office was dubbed the library, due to its built in bookshelves and handsome wood paneling. The client loves textures, and there is an abundance of it here. The desk has a concrete top, the ceiling solitaire fixtures the same.
The walls are covered in a rich gray grasscloth from Phillip Jeffries, that warms the room. RL Linen drapery block the glare when needed. A washable rug grounds the room, in case of accidents when snacking at his desk.
The room doubles as a guest room, the performance linen covered sleep sofa impervious to spills. It's a great place to curl up with a book and a fluffy throw.

This flex room can be used as a home office, formal dining space or place for the kids. Dark walls give the space cozy, sophisticated feel. The custom metal strip that allows for pictures and art to hang from give a nod to the old farmhouse design.
