Our second project for this thatched cottage (approx age: 250 years old) was all the reception rooms. The colour palette had been set by the kitchen project and it was our task to create synergy between the rooms but, as one room leads on to another, create distinctive areas. For the sitting room, our inspiration was private members' clubs...spaces where you can kick back, relax, enjoy an evening tipple of something smooth; listen to music, read a book or catch up on the day's news. Large leather wing-back chairs were softened by throws and copper accents. We brought through the same industrial light as the kitchen to create synergy and give a twist to the very traditional inglenook fireplace.

Progressive Furniture Meadow 72" Console in Weathered Gray Rustic sophistication with a casual twist is presented in this new entertainment group. The rough sewn salvaged pine absorbs the weathered gray finish that creates an interesting variation in color that gives it that sought after vintage look. Solid wood salvaged pine construction featuring tongue and groove, framed in tongue and groove on case tops. Solid wood drawer dado construction with metal drawer guides. Simple single bracket base. Graphite hardware featuring round knob with backplate and simplistic complimenting handle.

This 1850s farmhouse in the country outside NY underwent a dramatic makeover! Dark wood molding was painted white, shiplap added to the walls, wheat-colored grasscloth installed, and carpets torn out to make way for natural stone and heart pine flooring. We based the palette on quintessential American colors: red, white, and navy. Rooms that had been dark were filled with light and became the backdrop for cozy fabrics, wool rugs, and a collection of art and curios. Tucked away in the backwoods of Torch Lake, this home marries “rustic” with the sleek elegance of modern. The combination of wood, stone and metal textures embrace the charm of a classic farmhouse. Although this is not your average farmhouse. The home is outfitted with a high performing system that seamlessly works with the design and architecture. The tall ceilings and windows allow ample natural light into the main room. Spire Integrated Systems installed Lutron QS Wireless motorized shades paired with Hartmann & Forbes windowcovers to offer privacy and block harsh light. The custom 18′ windowcover’s woven natural fabric complements the organic esthetics of the room. The shades are artfully concealed in the millwork when not in use. Spire installed B&W in-ceiling speakers and Sonance invisible in-wall speakers to deliver ambient music that emanates throughout the space with no visual footprint. Spire also installed a Sonance Landscape Audio System so the homeowner can enjoy music outside. Each system is easily controlled using Savant. Spire personalized the settings to the homeowner’s preference making controlling the home efficient and convenient. this living room design featured uniquely designed wall panels that adds a more refined and elegant look to the exposed beams and traditional fireplace design. the Vis-à-vis sofa positioning creates an open layout with easy access and circulation for anyone going in or out of the living room. With this room we opted to add a soft pop of color but keeping the neutral color palette thus the dark green sofa that added the needed warmth and depth to the room. Finally, we believe that there is nothing better to add to a home than one's own memories, this is why we created a gallery wall featuring family and loved ones photos as the final touch to add the homey feeling to this room.
