Two corten steel panels catch the evening sun with their gorgeous weathered surface. Providing texture and a focal point to this modern retro garden.

This new beach front home on a shallow sloping lot provided the architectural bones to draw from. The front landscape brief was a coordinating space with curb appeal that could also double as an enclosed lawn area for their dog. Low custom metal fencing provides the enclosure and adding a layer of horizontal interest. Stone & concrete retaining walls mimic the house materials for continuity.
In the rear - custom metal screens and corten planters provide privacy and detail and keep the focus on the beautiful lake view.
Native Edge Landscape
After this home was completely rebuilt in the established Barton Hills neighborhood, the landscape needed a reboot to match the new modern/contemporary house. To update the style, we replaced the cracked solid driveway with concrete ribbons and gravel that lines up with the garage. We built a retaining to hold back the sloped, problematic front yard. This leveled out a buffer space of plantings near the curb helping to create a welcoming accent for guests. We also introduced a comfortable pathway to transition through the yard into the new courtyard space, balancing out the scale of the house with the landscape.
Landscape Logic
A complete front yard designed and installed by Tony Vitale of Landscape Logic. The outdoor bbq island kitchen had a deco wall backdrop, stone veneer base with all the amenitites. The pool has a vanishing edge spa, wall scuppers water features and midnight blue pebble finishes. We have artificial turf, flagstone inlay accents, a fire pit with a metal pergola over it. All of the plants are drought tolerant and low water use.

Riqualificazione ambientale-paesaggistica del lago Fontana
Primo premio Ex Aequo | Paysage City’Scape Award
Menzione speciale | Premio Triennale Fare Paesaggio

Environmental and landscape renovation of lake Fontana

The intervention involves the creation of an itinerary in constant dialogue with the topography of the area, that adapts to its natural configuration in such a way as to minimize the environmental and perceptive impact. The frequent alternation of the levels of the ground offered the opportunity to obtain a continuous flat pavement and a small panoramic terrace which is located approximately halfway along the route.

The front garden for an innovative property in Fulham Cemetery - the house featured on Channel 4's Grand Designs in January 2021. The design had to enhance the relationship with the bold, contemporary architecture and open up a dialogue with the wild green space beyond its boundaries. Seen here in the height of summer, this space is an immersive walk through a naturalistic and pollinator rich planting scheme.

Welcome to the ultimate backyard, where the interior effortlessly merges with the exterior through wide panoramic glass doors, and where material transitions are subtly concealed. Centered in this vast space is a sizable pool complemented by a water wall, making it the centerpiece of the area. Designed for entertainment and enjoyment, this space features a spacious outdoor kitchen, a covered area for watching TV by the pool, a bocce ball court with a custom horseshoe backstop, and as night falls, a snug fire pit ideally situated on the canyon's brink.

Sonoma fieldstones and colorful drought tolerant perennials create a gorgeous backdrop. Powder coasted metal fencing will withstand the salt air.

Lush planting compliment this modern landscape nestled over a lake. Arbors guide you down to the lake along a new path with precast concrete steps. A wood deck overlooks the lake. A new turf patio around a fire feature takes the chill out of the air in the evening. A perfect spot for to enjoy a glass of wine!

Landscape Logic
Landscape Logic transformed this backyard into a very user-friendly space. A place for adults and children to use together at all hours of the day. I especially love the dual-sided fireplace so that the kids can use after getting out of the pool while the adults are hanging out under the patio cover.

A second patio at the far end of the garden provides another space to relax. Dark painted walls and fences match the doors and provide a dramatic backdrop for planting.
