Giving warmth to the secondary bedroom was easy, we sanded the floors and gave them a coat of finish bringing to life the original hardwood flooring. The shine and warmth of the floors are important especially when selling, buyers love the charm of original hardwood. We gave this room a touch of pink in the staging to soften the neutral gray walls.

I created a feminine home office with just a hint of my geeky side! This room was done on a very tight budget. I backed the shelves with a shower curtain I found on clearance. The chandelier was also a clearance item that I spray painted pink.

This bedroom was completed after our design was selected by BATC / Special Spaces for their 2014 Design Competition to design a bedroom for four-year-old Eli. Our design focused on creating a fun room for this little boy with a love of all things with wheels (and Ninja Turtles!). The carpet was replaced with durable luxury vinyl planks that mimic wood. A loft bed was added along with a race car bed so that the room can grow with Eli. We incorporated racing stripes along with racing decals. A closet system was added to help keep Eli organized.

I knew it was time to makeover my son's nursery after removing the changing pad and baby toiletries from the changing area. My son has also developed quite the interest in cars, it's beyond toy cars. He loves flipping through car mags with dad and can name almost any model that drives by us on the road or he's sees parked on the street. I really wanted to bring in "some" of his love of four wheel vehicles into his personal space. Especially since we don't do toys in the bedroom.
We took our time and didn't race through the process and both mom and kiddo are champions of this new space. For five simple makeover tips for a smooth transition from the nursery into that more mature space check out our blog post '5 Tips Transition From Nursery to Big Kid Bedroom'.

This project for a large family with six young children had to be functional, durable and comfortable. With the home being located outside of the city in a rural part of town, Pulp Design Studios took inspiration from nature, choosing warm neutrals as the back drop for pops of green, blue and red.
