The home is made from reclaimed brick, cross-laminated timber and a planted lawn which makes up its biodiverse roof. Occupying a compact urban site, surrounded by neighbours and walls on all sides, the home centres on a solar courtyard which brings natural light, air and views to the home, not unlike the peristyles of Roman Pompeii.

PROJET : Le toit d’un magasin de produits bio, pour une partie accessible aux employés et pour l’autre non mais visible de tous de la rue qui surplombe le magasin. Proclamer haut et fort son engagement en proposant verdure pour tous et bien-être pour ses employés, tel a été le leitmotiv du responsable de ce magasin. NOTRE CHALLENGE : Deux types de toits supportant des charges différentes, une partie en dalle béton permettant un lieu de vie pour les employés, l’autre en structure acier accueillant une épaisseur de substrat moindre mais permettant l’épanouissement des sedums et des graminées. UN PEU DE TECHNIQUE : Deux natures de plancher pour deux usages, vigilance pour l’étanchéité et le bon écoulement des eaux. QUELS VEGETAUX : Beaucoup de sédums et quelques vivaces et petits arbustes dans la partie supportant un substrat plus épais.
