Davis Tamburin Inc.In this fabulous dining room, we mixed the traditional with contemporary design. Yes you can mix it up. We chose to anchor the room with a color pallette of blue white and orange. The rug is a chain link design with a background of orange with blue as the chain link. We duplicated the design onto the ceiling. We chose to drape the table in a custom tablecloth in an overscaled floral pattern in navy and white. We drew from the navy and painted the walls using it. The table cloth fabric was also used as the drapery fabric. On the drapery, we chose to use an inverted pleat and use chrome nail heads as the detailed anchor. Its all in the details that make it special. The table is set using a blue and white color pallete as well sprinkled iwth the orange from the rug. We chose to mix up the plating using a white dinner plate, blue ikat patterned salad plate and a sorbet glass to add height. The napkin is an orange and white egyptian pattern. Every table should have a center piece so we chose a pair of white lacquered urns which we filled with a white orchid ball. The center of the table has a white porcelian horse to provide interest. Over the dining table, we chose this beautiful orchid chandelier from Austrialia. It is made of mylar and is spectaclur. A true focal point! For the artwork we chose a series of three long painting which we selected not only because of their beauty but for their shape. One is an original from an artist that we admire, the other two are images we found captivating and placed on lucite. Enjoy!

Krystine Edwards DesignA sweet newly married couple just moved into their Charleston home with standard builder features in their dining room, like beige walls and oil rubbed light fixtures. With a little paint - Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy - and some pretty gold home accessories, this formal dining room was well on its way to fabulous! We included Ballard Design gold pendants, Serena & Lily zig cotton dhurrie rug, Restoration Hardware pedestal dining table and chairs, Home Goods lamps and vases and coastal artwork framed in gold.
Kim ArmstrongThis is our eye catching dining room! The client loves dynamic color, and boy did we deliver. This was such a fun room, and the direction for this blue dining room was taken from the clients painting, by JD Miller. Although not pictured in this photo, the painting is quite colorful. the agates were hand selected and custom framed. We didn't want another piece of art to compete with the JD miller painting, so we decided to take the colorful beauty of mother nature and create an personal collection of framed natural art for our client. The Drapes are Designer's Guild (We love!) and we couldn't find a pattern for the chairs that the client loved, so we customized a stripe with various Designer's Guild solids to create a one-of-a-kind dining side chair just for this room! The client loves it, and says her guests enjoy the dining experience when she entertains. This project is located in Dallas Tx.
Coddington DesignThe blue in the ticking stripe of the dining chair upholstery plays on the rich blue paint, as well as the white painted paneling. Built-in cabinetry provides the perfect space for the owner's collection of vintage glasses and vases.

Henrietta Heisler Interiors IncWhen modernizing the dining room in a traditional home we started with the color palette, pulling blues from other recently remodeled spaces. The chandelier was then selected for its playfulness and impact. Texture was very important in this space, and you'll see layers of texture on on every surface - there is always something interesting for your eye. A main challenge was keeping some existing elements while giving the homeowners a new look that coordinated with the rest of the very traditionally designed home. The clients had differing design views, one wanted modern, straight lines, and the other wanted more curves and decoration. We blended the two ideas using straight lines in furniture, artwork and wallpaper, while allowing texture, and repetition of shapes to add movement.
