Inspired by a midcentury modern style, we added an amazing wallpaper and tied it all together with brass finishes.
Sweeney Design Remodel
Sweeney Design Remodel updated all the finishes, including the flooring and wallpaper. We replaced a pedestal sink and wall-hung cabinet with a beautiful Mexican-painted sink the clients had collected and set it on a wooden vanity. Glacier-white granite was featured on the powder bath vanity. The floor was replaced with a terracotta-colored hexagon tile that complemented the ornate sink, and indigo wallpaper with a subtle botanical print tied the room together. A stunning crystal chandelier offered another focal point for the space. For storage, we added matching corner cabinets with granite countertops.

This new house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood developed in the 1920’s, that is in transition, with new larger homes replacing the original modest-sized homes. The house is designed to be harmonious with its traditional neighbors, with divided lite windows, and hip roofs. The roofline of the shingled house steps down with the sloping property, keeping the house in scale with the neighborhood. The interior of the great room is oriented around a massive double-sided chimney, and opens to the south to an outdoor stone terrace and gardens. Photo by: Nat Rea Photography

A tiny and mighty powder room was tucked into a space between the kitchen and hallway. We went bold to create an encompassing and yet cozy environment.
Harper Design Build
Built at the turn of the century, this historic limestone’s 4,000 SF interior presented endless opportunities for a spacious and grand layout for a family of five. Modern living juxtaposes the original staircase and the exterior limestone façade. The renovation included digging out the cellar to make space for a music room and play space. The overall expansive layout includes 5 bedrooms, family room, art room and open dining/living space on the parlor floor. This design build project took 12 months to complete from start to finish.
Everything Home
Our design studio worked magic on this dated '90s home, turning it into a stylish haven for our delighted clients. Through meticulous design and planning, we executed a refreshing modern transformation, breathing new life into the space.
In this bathroom design, we embraced a bright, airy ambience with neutral palettes accented by playful splashes of beautiful blue. The result is a space that combines serenity and a touch of fun.

The homeowners came to us looking to update the kitchen in their historic 1897 home. The home had gone through an extensive renovation several years earlier that added a master bedroom suite and updates to the front façade. The kitchen however was not part of that update and a prior 1990’s update had left much to be desired. The client is an avid cook, and it was just not very functional for the family.
The original kitchen was very choppy and included a large eat in area that took up more than its fair share of the space. On the wish list was a place where the family could comfortably congregate, that was easy and to cook in, that feels lived in and in check with the rest of the home’s décor. They also wanted a space that was not cluttered and dark – a happy, light and airy room. A small powder room off the space also needed some attention so we set out to include that in the remodel as well.
See that arch in the neighboring dining room? The homeowner really wanted to make the opening to the dining room an arch to match, so we incorporated that into the design.
Another unfortunate eyesore was the state of the ceiling and soffits. Turns out it was just a series of shortcuts from the prior renovation, and we were surprised and delighted that we were easily able to flatten out almost the entire ceiling with a couple of little reworks.
Other changes we made were to add new windows that were appropriate to the new design, which included moving the sink window over slightly to give the work zone more breathing room. We also adjusted the height of the windows in what was previously the eat-in area that were too low for a countertop to work. We tried to keep an old island in the plan since it was a well-loved vintage find, but the tradeoff for the function of the new island was not worth it in the end. We hope the old found a new home, perhaps as a potting table.
