Dig Your Garden Landscape Design
This contemporary landscape was completely transformed with bluestone patios, pathways and stairways; stucco covered retaining walls, horizontal redwood fencing, drought-tolerant trees and other plantings along with low-voltage lighting and other accents. The back yard areas also include a small artificial turf lawn and cable railing. Photos and Design © Eileen Kelly, Dig Your Garden Design.

Billy Goodnick Garden Design
A dry-stack Sydney Peak stone wall built up the soil to provide extra root depth without compromising the crown elevation of the tree. Plant were selected for their ability to find pockets of soil between roots. The existing flagstone slabs were leveled to create safe, comfortable steps. Two shade tolerant, low water ground covers add a simple, grey street-side texture.
The Ardent Gardener Landscape Design
Locally quarried sandstone walls, steps, patio and pond. The design reclaimed a steep slope and made for a visually appealing area that becomes very useable. Simple plantings allow the wall to be the star. Photo: The Ardent Gardener Landscape

An expansive back yard landscape with several mature oak trees and a stunning Golden Locust tree has been transformed into a welcoming outdoor retreat. The renovations include a wraparound deck, an expansive travertine natural stone patio, stairways and pathways along with concrete retaining walls and column accents with dramatic planters. The pathways meander throughout the landscape... some with travertine stepping stones and gravel and those below the majestic oaks left natural with fallen leaves. Raised vegetable beds and fruit trees occupy some of the sunniest areas of the landscape. A variety of low-water and low-maintenance plants for both sunny and shady areas include several succulents, grasses, CA natives and other site-appropriate Mediterranean plants complimented by a variety of boulders. Dramatic white pots provide architectural accents, filled with succulents and citrus trees. Design, Photos, Drawings © Eileen Kelly, Dig Your Garden Landscape Design
